When it comes to the topic of stereotypes, most of us will readily agree that Minority are treated crudely because of stereotypes. Someone might stereotype another person to maintain a certain idea of a minority. stereotypes are usually characterize a minority groups by color or language. There are also many stereotypes like, gender, racial, and mental stereotypes. But, Some people believe that stereotypes don't harm minorities in any way. The article “Student immigrants stage a risky protest at U.S.-Mexico border” by Cindy Carcamo and “Chaos reigns as Trump’s travel ban sparks backlash of protests, confusion” by Laura King, Barbara Demick, and James Queally are all articles that answer the question Should the United States allow immigrants and refugees to enter the country when everyone around the world is concerned about safety and security? Some people have a stereotype that immigrants and refugees are dangerous to American citizens. Cindy Carcamo said “Statistics show deportations went up from...300,000 in 2007 to..400,000 in 2011” (document A, “Chaos reigns as Trump’s travel ban sparks backlash of protests, confusion”). Immigrants come to the USA to get a better education. These Immigrants stereotypes that everyone hears affects their everyday life, from the constant hate they get from people they don’t even know. Laura King, Barbara Demick, and James Queally said “citizens of seven Muslim-majority nations...all of whom were carrying valid entry documents…” (document D, “Student immigrants stage a risky protest at U.S.-Mexico border” ). Immigrants are Categorized into many thing; mostly bad. They are seen as people that shouldn’t come into the USA or people that might hurt other people. But, they are not like that at all. They are all just regular people like us but, they just want to come to the USA to have freedom.
