This explains that Stanley acted like a leader found a place to rest. Another example is when Zero leaded Stanley back to the camp to find the treasure. Also, on page 196, it states, “We need to go this way,’ Zero said, first drawing a line on the map and then heading that way himself. Stanley followed”. This shows that Zero led them back to the camp. Lastly, X-Ray was the leader of the group of boys in the camp. In addition, on page 52, it states, “Stanley wasn’t sure what to say. X-Ray was clearly the leader of the group, and Stanley didn’t want to get on his bad side”. This proves that X-Ray was the leader of all the boys in the group. Leadership was also an important theme because without it Stanley and Zero would not find the treasure and gain confidence. The person who was a good leader in the movie was Mr. Keating because he was the one to help the boys break out if their shells and to understand what they wanted in life, which would then help them to be successful in life. In the end, that cost him his job due to the death of one of his students who took his advice. He is even a good leader to not only the characters but touches the heart of those who watch the movie.
