Storytelling can go a long way and in many different ways. Universal themes can cross between time, place, and cultures, which are evident in all stories. The Maze Runner was written by James Dashner, this kind of story is post apocalyptic dystopian science fiction. In the movie it had a lot of Universal Storytelling Elements such as odd elements, the characters, narrative transport, and heroic scenarios. The odd elements in The Maze Runner were that the maze changes every single night. You can hear the Maze change up the way in order to try to find the exit and be able to escape from the box that they have been trapped in for a long time. The other odd thing is that Thomas ended up getting attacked by Ben in which he got stung by a Grieber so it made him delirious and wanted to kill him. “It’s all your fault.”(Maze Runner) is what Ben kept telling Thomas. The quote meant that ever since Thomas has arrived a lot of bad things kept happening. So in the Maze Runner there has been so many strange things going on. Narrative transport was a big thing in the movie. At some parts it actually made you feel like you were part of it and it was happening to your own self. Like for example when Thomas was being chased by a Griever it felt like it was chasing you instead. Another example would be when the wall doors are closing …show more content…
When the doors started to close Minho finally came back but Alby got stung by a griever so Minho tried to carry him back. The door were almost closed but Thomas had a lot of courage to go beyond the wall to help out Minho and help save Alby even though he wasn't allowed to since he wasn't a Runner. Another example would be when Thomas got stuck in the maze with Minho and Alby, Thomas helped protect them both from the grievers and helped them make it back
First, in the introduction, It says, “He began his new life standing up.” This makes it sound like Thomas was born a new when he entered the maze, which is kind of true because Thomas has no memories of his past life. Thomas has no clue what has happened, where he is or what his name is. Thomas just thinks Thomas and continues to live as if his name is Thomas. These are the first interesting ideas that we are exposed to in the introduction of the Maze Runner.
The Illegal, and Some Great Thing by Lawrence Hill both contain several important themes. To explain, The Illegal features the main character’s loss of innocence, and the racism towards people because of their country of origin, and ethnic background. Next, Some Great Thing includes the themes of racism and prejudice towards not only the protagonist, but also to French Canadians because of the colour of their skin, or the language they speak, and the courage of characters to stand up for what they believe is right.
Dashner says that most of the ideas for the trilogy came at the very beginning. He always knew that there would be three books, and had a good idea on how the books would be divided. As an avid reader, much of his inspiration comes from the books he has read. James says The Maze Runner was influenced by The Enders Game by Orson Scott Card and also Lord of the Flies by William Golding. He say...
“Earth people will beat out any other intelligent life-form in any and all competitions” is a theme, but “good always beats evil” is one too. “Once upon a time . . . ” stories have themes too, except they are more one-dimensional. For example,... ...
The film "Finding Neverland" is the story of the man JM Barrie who does not want to grow up, and writes the story of a boy who never does. JM Barrie is a grown-up man, but he still lives in the unrealistic imagination of a fantasy-world, called Neverland. He uses Neverland to escape from the real world and his problems. Every time something goes badly in his life, he seeks comfort in Neverland. JM Barrie is married with his wife Mary, but he doesn’t care about her and ignores her. She often try to get his attention, but without success. Children are naive and innocence, but they (often) don’t show any consideration for other people’s feelings. JM Barrie is naïve, and

He also knows the way out of the Maze,Thomas says that its a cliff and that the cliff is an illusion to trick the Gladers. The cliff was where the Grievers came and left the Maze. Since the beginning of time, stories have been told. Stories have been passed down from the beginning of time, told to younger generations by the old. Every story is based on one original story, however, the author has to create a new storyline with new character, sometimes adding a new, exciting aspect to the plot. There are only a limited number of stories that can be told, as there are only a limited number of messages, or key elements that a reader can take away from each story. After a while, a reader will begin to relate a book, movie, song, or some other kind of story, to a work that they have previously read.
Tom also had real courage to go and help Mayella out in the first place; he didn’t have to, and by doing it he was putting himself at risk; any bystander could have gotten the wrong idea. However, he helped her anyways out of sheer goodwill. Another act of courage Tom did was when he tried to escape prison by running over the fence. He was licked from the start because he only had one good arm and was against guards with weapons, but he attempted it anyway because, in his mind, it was the right thing to do.... ...

The authors can make their themes any kind of way. Ofcourse , it has to relate to the story and make sense. Also, all themes are different depending on the story. Thomas is only in the maze for a few days before major changes start happening. Thomas is also a runner; he is viewed by many, as their only hope of escaping. He is brave and sacrifices his life to save others. Thomas is not afraid of the pressure; his main focus is to find the way out. Even though Gally has a strong dislike for Thomas, Thomas often tries to help Gally along the way. For example in the movie, Thomas says,” You don't have to come with us, but we are leaving. Anyone else who wants to come, now is your last chance!” (Thomas, The Maze Runner.) This shows that even though Gally has tried to hurt and even kill Thomas, Thomas is still trying to help
Make sure you love and respect your elders because they don't last forever. People get older and older, but that doesn’t last forever, so cherish the time you have with them. There are Universal themes that recur because no matter how different people share the basic experiences and concerns. Leo Tolstoy’s Russian folk tale “The Grandfather and His Little Grandson” and sandra Cisneros poem “Abuelito Who” have the same universal theme about the importance of grandchildren always loving and respecting their grandparents.
In the novel, The Call of the Wild we see a swathe of themes that permeate through it's writing and atmosphere. There is the mantra of survival of the fittest, the acquisition of skill, and the difference between the wilderness and civilization. However, the strongest point we see that shines and peaks through all the others is the regression to our instincts. This refers to how due to our surroundings how we will inevitably turn back into uncivilized animals. This is apparent in the main character, Buck.
The novel The Maze Runner by James Dashner begins with a teenage boy waking up in an elevator who has no memory of the past, only that his name is Thomas. When the doors of the elevator open up he is pulled into a humongous square surrounding, called the Glade, by a group of teenage boys. The boys in the Glade refer to themselves as the ‘Gladers’. Thomas learns that the Gladers have lived in there for two years and that the Glade is located in the center of a maze which contains a labyrinth of high walls that move during the night and deadly creatures called grievers. The Glade is led by two boys, Alby and Newt; they both maintain order in the Glade by enforcing strict rules and jobs that keep the Gladers busy. A day after Thomas’ arrival an unknown girl arrives in the Glade. This shocks everyone because the Gladers only receive a new person every month, never within the same week. This also shocks everyone because she was the only girl in a maze full of boys. The girl also gives a message that everything is going to change and that she is the last one ever. Right after her message she immediately falls into a coma. The arrival of the girl causes many things to go chaotic including the sun seizing to rise, the Gladers stop receiving supplies from the creators of the maze, and the doors of the Glade that protect the Gladers from the grievers at night stop closing. When the girl, Teresa wakes up she informs Thomas that they both knew each other in the past and that the maze was a code. Thomas and the people who run around the maze to map out the labyrinth, the runners, look through the archives of the maps and find out the code. Then the leader of the runners, Minho, figures out that the cliff they thought was just a cliff was actua...
