Through the study of the Peruvian society using articles like “The “Problem of the Indian...” and the Problem of the Land” by Jose Carlos Mariátegui and the Peruvian film La Boca del Lobo directed by Francisco Lombardi, it is learned that the identity of Peru is expressed through the Spanish descendants that live in cities or urban areas of Peru. In his essay, Mariátegui expresses that the creation of modern Peru was due to the tenure system in Peru and its Indigenous population. With the analyzation of La Boca del Lobo we will describe the native identity in Peru due to the Spanish treatment of Indians, power in the tenure system of Peru, the Indian Problem expressed by Mariátegui, and the implementation of Benedict Andersons “Imagined Communities”.

The other problem is that this job shows no sign of being financially viable. Ehrenreich states that there is no secret economies that nourish the poor, “If you can 't put up the two months’ rent you need to secure an apartment, you end up paying through the nose for a room by the week” (286). As the company expanded, Lulu could no longer target every individual walking into the store with knowledge of healthy living. At this point, the company shifted its focus to educating their employees who could positively influence everyone who walked into the stores. The thought and reasoning that went into the first Lulu store has continued as the company has grown. It has continued to target active people while pushing everyone towards a healthy lifestyle. Its main target market is young woman, between 15 and 34 years old, in the middle to upper classes. One of Lulu’s top products is its yoga pants, which along with a majority of the products Lulu creates, are made to wear during exercise. The style and fit of this clothing helps men and women alike to look good while working out, this leads to a boost in self-confidence and self-esteem. On the other hand, the close fitting material incentivizes people to stay active and eat healthy in order to fit into the clothing that is offered by Lululemon. In the past few years Lulu has expanded its target market to include active males as well. It is important to include cultural issues in the helping process to be more effective. We also need cultural competence because the U.S. is becoming more diverse. Therefore with diversity comes different beliefs, norms, and values. Eurocentric values dominate sciences and began cultural universals which puts the clash of dominate and non-dominate cultural behaviors in motion. In 1996 the NASW Code of Ethics increased the recognition of cultural competence. It is important to know diversity exist within ethnic and cultural groups because social workers need to know that relationships between helping professionals and clients may be strained. This happens because of the distrust between groups. Another important aspect is that the professional realizes their own values, biases, and beliefs. The reason for this is because they must value diversity to start with and understand the dynamics of difference. Culturally competent practitioners have to go through developmental process of using their own culture as a starting point to meet all behaviors. Striving for cultural competence is a long term process of development. The literature on cultural competence is theoretical and conceptual. They have not been evaluated in a systematic way. Roughly there are 2 million Native americans in the U.S. Which survive decimating disease, over-repressed in child welfare system, suffer from health problems, and are among the poorest people in the United States. Working with them clearly falls within the social work clearly mandate to serve vulnerable and oppressed clients. In the year 1775 my life was turned upside down. I was born in Manhattan, New York, in the year 1760. Life was wonderful for my first 15 years. My father owned a print shop and his business thrived. Everything started to change when my brother, Abiel, and father, Jonas, left to join The Continental Army in December of 1775. Britain's power over the Colonies was troubling many people, including my dad. My father had always complained about the how the Stamp Act affected his business negatively and that the British are no good. When he joined the army, he had to sell off the shop to another family and left my mother and me with a dilemma; how would we support ourselves and our family? At the time of his departure I had a sister named Amity who was nine and a baby brother who was almost one. I had always assumed I would live in wealth until I married. However, nothing was guaranteed. I realized I was going to have to put in lots of effort to get my life back to how it was before, if that was even possible.
The late 17th and early 18th centuries were characterized by The Enlightenment; when revolutions in the patterns in society, science, and philosophy took place (Bristow). Many people started to look for reasoning in everyday life and religion, which more specifically led to the Protestant Reformation led by Martin Luther. As religion and the Catholic Church was questioned, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, an Enlightenment philosopher, invented the idea of philosophical optimism. Optimism stated that the the world was the “best of all possible worlds” because God created it. Voltaire, famous philosopher and author countered Leibniz’s idea in his novel Candide. Candide is a story about the a very naive character, named Candide, who ventures out into the world that Voltaire portrays as having a lot of suffering and consequently, not the “best of all possible worlds”. Because Voltaire disapproves of philosophical optimism, he uses satire to point out its fallacies by ridiculing the monarchy, exaggerating the perils of his characters, and by mocking the Church.
The central idea of “A Good Man Is Hard to Find” by Flannery O'Connor deals with the struggle to change a person in a positive way through religion. A person can be easily changed if grace, properly experienced, changes one's personal qualities (O'Connor qtd. in Hendricks). Attempting to change a person through religion becomes difficult when that individual demands to witness a miracle in order to believe: “if the Misfit had been able to see the miracle of Lazarus for himself, he would have believed that Jesus was the son of God, and he would have been able to live a conventional Christian life” (Hendricks).
Even the easiest and trivial problems do have several solutions, dictated by different approaches, driving forces, and starting points. So, what can one tell about solution of the complex issues that require a lot of time, effort and thought to be solved? There are always a multitude of positions, opinions and options to solve the complex problem, so one cannot even tell which of these options is the only true and right. Thus, it is hard to judge whether specific solutions for the problem of slavery in North America of the 18th-19th century would be efficient or not. So, comparing Lucy Stanton’s and Nat Tuner’s positions and approaches to achieve the freedom for African-Americans it seems almost impossible to claim that only one of the points is valid.
