King Louis XVI Assignment King Louis also known as Louis-Auguste duc de Berry was born in August 23, 1754 in Versailles, France. King Louis was the last child out of three. Louis-Auguste grew up very talented and very educated. Louis-Auguste loved Latin, history, geography, and astronomy. He also mastered Italian and English language. His father Louis Dauphin of France and his mother Marie-Josephe of Saxony were very well known because of whom their parents were. Louis older brother who was the rightful owner of the heir died at the age of nine and four years after King Louis father died from tuberculosis. King Louis mother couldn’t recover from the death of her first born child and loving husband, soon after her husband’s death she died of the same cause. King Louis became king at the age of 15 on March 13, 1767. King Louis had some doubts about him becoming king. The king was still shy and in order for him to become a great king he had to get over the shyness. The king was very indecisive. While King Louis was king at the age of 15 he also got married to a 14 yr old. Her name is Marie Antoinette. King Louis financial problems were one of the biggest causes for him to be in the war. During the French Revolutionary War King Louis was forced to take the Tricolour flag a symbol of the Revolutionary. King Louis tried to ignore the war, but other countries just kept bringing him into the fight. King Louis and his wife Marie Antoinette tried to escape in June 1791, but didn’t make it very far.
