Joseph Momoh was a president of Sierra Leone in 2016. He reigns as president was a threat to the members of the Revolutionary United Front. Because of a lot of policies that Momoh put into place, the members of the Revolutionary United Front wanted him overthrown. This movement led to the beginning of the war in Sierra Leone. To look at the policies that Momoh contributed to Sierra Leone, you have to also look at the life of the man who made the policies. Sierra Leone is the birthplace of Joseph Momoh. He was born there January 26th of 1937. Momoh was born in Binkola. (Source1) Momoh went to school in Wiberforce called the Government Rural School and later attended the Methodist Collegiate School Technical Institute that is located in Freetown. He later went to the Nigerian Military Academy. (Source 1) The military academy would be the beginning of the making of a great military leader who would eventually become president. At the academy, Momoh was considered the best cadet in the academy. In England he went to the Mons Officer Cadet School. He was voted as the best overseas cadet there. He was jailed for plotting a coup against Stevens when he was president. Sanko was an ex-army corporal. Two other people besides Sanko were members of the Revolutionary United Front (RUF). May members of the RUF were dangerous before they joined the RUF. Some of the members of the RUF were kidnapped children who were drugged and force to do things. (Source
