In life the bigger or stronger person doesn’t always win. John F. Kennedy is a prime example of that. John F. Kennedy had a really bad physical shape and was always behind his older brother. John F. Kennedy was able to put that behind though and achieve amazing accomplishments. John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline Massachusetts which is not far from Boston. Jack as his family called him had 8 brothers and sister. They were named Joseph Jr, Rosemary, Kathleen, Eunice, Patricia, Robert, Jean, and Edward Jack was the 2nd oldest. His parents were Joseph and Rose Kennedy. When Jack is 2 ½ he catches scarlet fever which causes high temperatures and red rashes. Jack then tries the Navy and gets in. Jack is appointed to captain of PT-109. While in enemy waters his boat is struck by a Japanese destroyer. Jack orders his crew to swim to nearby island and then to another one. On the island Jack carves “NAURO ISL… COMMANDER… NATIVE KNOWS POS’IT… HE CAN PILOT… 11 ALIVE…NEED SMALL BOAT …KENNEDY.” into a coconut shell. Jack then gives the coconut to a native and tells him to get it to the U.S military base. Jack and his crew are later saved and Jack is awarded the US Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his heroism. Jack’s older brother Joseph was killed while flying a airplane when it suddenly exploded. So now Jack has to be the big brother of the family, and achieve his father’s expectation of Joseph being the president of the United States. Jack starts of his political career by getting elected into Congress. Jack then gets his younger brother Bobby to manage his campaign for Senator. His mother and sisters also help by hosting tea parties to get votes. Jack wins the election and is now a part of the US Senate. At this time Jack Marries Jacqueline Bouvier. In the 1956 election Jack tries to get the nomination for vice president for the Democratic party but loses. On November 27, 1957 Jacqueline gives birth to Caroline Kennedy. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963. John F. Kennedy needed two pick 2 states with a high number of electoral votes in the south for the upcoming election he picked Texas and Florida. So he went to Texas campaigning and to meet with Texas Governor John Connally. While riding in the motorcade Jack decided to have the roof down, so it was completely open on the top. While the motorcade came through Dealey Plaza 3 shots rang out. John F. Kennedy was hit in the head and neck. 1 shot went through John Connally’s back, wrist, and leg. These wounds would ultimately kill John F. Kennedy, but John Connally would survive. Lee Harvey Oswald escaped from the police but when a officer confronted him he shot him too. He was later arrested in a movie theater that day. A rifle and 3 empty rounds were found in the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Coincidentally Lee Oswald worked there, and his thumb prints were found on the gun. Lee Oswald never confessed to the crime. While police was moving Lee Oswald to a different more secure jail Jack Ruby jumped out from the crowd and shot Lee Oswald killing him. Jack Ruby was sentenced to death, but many called him a hero. John F. Kennedy was buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Above his grave is an eternal flame it is still lit
