The assassination of JFK changed the direction of the cold war , due to the popularity of JFK and the violent nature of his assassination, which led to multiple conspiracy theories and depression for americans. The cold war was a period of tension world wide but it mainly focused between the U.S and USSR. And also played a big role in the assassination because there was potential for a nuclear war. The nuclear arms race that started right after the Korean War was over and it was influenced by both president John F. Kennedy and Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev. There was no actual war fought between US and the USSR, but it did promote tension and massive weapon development. One of the reasons why the cold war lasted so long was because the Soviets never accepted the idea that the Western powers would have a totally free hand in Western Germany and they were furious when the Germans in the late 1950s have obtained their own nuclear weapons. President Eisenhower wanted Europe able to defend itself. John F. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, on May 29, 1917. he graduated from Harvard in 1940. then shortly after he signed up for the navy, and 3 years into his navy service, August 2nd at 2:30 in the morning Kennedys pt boat (Patrol Torpedo boats) was hit and sunken by a Japanese destroyer boat. Kennedy swam out to save Patrick Henry McMahon and Charles Harris. Kennedy pulled McMahon by a life-vest strap, and he talked Harris into doing the difficult swim back to the wreckage. After he came back from the war, he became a House of Representative Democratic Congressman, and then senate in 1953. He later then married Jacqueline Bouvieron September 12, 1953. When Kennedy got assassinated it affect almost everyone, and put americans into depression. There were a lot of conspiracies on who killed J.F.K and how they killed him. John F. Kennedy was assassinated while riding in a convertible limousine in a motorcade going through Dallas, Texas on Friday November 22, 1963. Two hours after the incident Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the murder of a policeman J.D. Tippet and the next morning he was arraigned for murdering the president. Jack Ruby a night club owner shot and killed Oswald as he was being transferred to county jail. Immediately there were suspicions of a larger plot in regards to the shooting. Several books have been written about the JFK assassination however Thomas Buchanan’s book “Who Killed JFK?” has been called the first book published that alleged the conspiracy theory.

A fourth shot was fired from the grassy knoll, which was contradictory to the statement printed by the Warren Commission 16 years earlier. They concluded that John Kennedy was assassinated as the result of a conspiracy.

Evidence that proves Oswald’s guilt are as follows; Oswald was pro-Communist, and hated America. He was in the Depository at the time of the assassination, and searches of the building found evidence of his work. The rifle with his finger prints on it was found by a make-shift snipers nest.

Soon after Kennedy's brother Joe was killed in a terrible plane crash in Europe he went back home to the United States. In 1952 he was elected into the US senate. And soon after that he ran to be president in 1960 and won againt the republican Richard Nixon in a very close race. Kennedy was the youngest president ever at the age of 43 he was the 35th president. But his presidncy didn't last long once he was assasinated on November 21, 1963.
JFK was a civil rights activist, because this was well known he had made enemies with many southerners in that time period. Despite these enemies JFK had made clear he wanted to campaign in Florida and Texas, as he knew that not winning those states could flip the tables on him. His wife would be with him, making her first display in public for more than is needed since the death of her baby in August ("John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum"). While the most accepted idea is that he was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, there are a lot more ideas out there. Some people believe that the Mafia had ties to his assassination, mainly Jack Ruby, or if the CIA or FBI had been involved. Unfortunately, nothing remains except many conspiracy theories. After a very close election John F. Kennedy beat republican opponent Richard Nixon for presidency. The first months of Kennedy’s terms did not go smoothly, among many other conflicts and situational events the main disappointment was the unsuccessful Bay of Pigs Invasion. Kennedy’s whole time in office did not reflect his first few months. He was very successful in stimulating the economy, the civil rights movements, and also keeping the cold war from becoming hot. Kennedy did not continue his success because he was assassinated. What would have happen if JFK was actually killed by the CIA? Americans would not believe in their government. There are many key events that happened throughout the entire duration of the Cold War. The fist main events that led up to the tension were the foreign aid policies. These policies were able to divide up Europe between the superpowers. After Europe was divided up treaty organizations and alliances stated forming up again. One of these alliances was the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This allied the western portion of Europe. Next came the Warsaw Pact, it was the communistic version of NATO.

Although the war never became a physical fight, nuclear weapons scared people all over. Stalin was president of Russia, and wanted to protect it, Stalin never fully trusted the United States, and the United States felt the same. Truman became president, but he was already a strong anti-communist. The Unites States had the advantage of already having an atomic bomb, this threatened Stalin and caused them to get nuclear weapons for their defense. The Cold war was caused by the United States because Truman had failed to inform Stalin on the atomic bomb in Japan, threatened the USSR with their advanced nuclear weapons, and….
