The novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry is a historical fiction book that shows the racial injustice during the 1930’s through the eyes of a black family. In my opinion, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry accurately depicts the triumphs and tragedies of the Civil Rights Movement. One way the novel accurately interpreted the tragedies in the Civil Rights Movement is when it displays the Jim Crow laws. For example, in the book the Logans could not ride a bus to school because the white children were using it.
