Path to Political Office Before becoming Oklahoma's representative, Jim Bridenstine did many other things. He flew the E-2C Hawkeye off the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier beginning his naval activation profession. Along with doing this, he flew combat mission in both Afghanistan and Iraq gathering most of his 1,900 hours along with 333 carrier rested landings! In addition, he also later flew at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare center. Once leaving active duty, he came back to Tulsa, Oklahoma to become the Executive Director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium. Even before becoming our representative, he triple majored at Rice University. He also spent nine years in the Navy on active duty and got an MBA from Cornell University. Bridenstine cares about our state and making a difference. Running for Oklahoma's representative and then becoming our representative helped Jim achieve some of his goals including constitutional integrity, economic freedom and national security. Bridenstine’s first committee assignment is the House Armed Service committee. The House Armed Service committee is accountable for oversight and funding of the Department of Defense plus normal defense policy. This is a good job for Bridenstine because the Department of Defense has to do with the military. Jim was in the military for many years so he knows a measurable amount about the military. Jim's other committee assignment is the House Science, Space and Technology subcommittee. This committee has jurisdiction over non-defense, Federal scientific development and research. This committee fits Bridenstine perfectly because Bridenstine has a scientific background being very well educated and he is the Executive Director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium. First, I will discuss his background, which started when he was born on April 16, 1931 in McCracken County Kentucky. His parents were Elvie B. and Eva Heady Carroll. His father was a farmer and a tractor implement salesman, he also owned a garage. In 1937, the family moved to Heath Kentucky he attended Heath high school and was later elected student body president. After graduating high school Senator Carroll attended Paducah Junior College. In 1951, he and his girlfriend Charlann Harting were married and started their family of what would eventually be four children. One year later he graduated from Paducah Junior College with an associate of arts degree.
Robert Latham Owen, Jr. was one of the first two senators to represent the State of Oklahoma. Owen was a Cherokee through his mother who was a big part of his life. Owen helped Native Americans in many ways in the first part of the 20th century. Owen used his position to secure monetary gains for Native Americans through action in the U.S. Court System and through legislation in Congress.

Mayhew would argue in Congress: The Electoral Connection that members of Congress are ‘’single-minded re-election seekers’’ and that re-election is their one and only goal. Whilst the assumption that all members of Congress are ‘‘single-minded re-election seekers’’ does go some distance in analysing the motives behind members of Congress, the reading fails to take into account the other key goals of members of Congress. Other goals include good policy and future career positions. It is important to remember that the achievement of both re-election and other goals are not exclusive, members of Congress often are motivated by more than one goal.
Sam Gilliam is was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on November 30, 1933. He served in the United States Army for two years. He received his education from University of Louisville and is a world renowned color artist. Morris Louis and Ken Noland’s works of art had a huge impact on Sam Gilliam and his works. Gilliam taught in Louisville publics schools and many art colleges. He is known for his colorful and unique art. He was one of the first artists to not frame his art work instead he would just paint on a bare canvas or drapes. His art style is very modern and loud. When someone looks at his works of art they have instant imagination and questions. Gilliam leaves his works of art up for interpretation, there is no solid meaning to them. Anyone can make see whatever they want, his art allows for freedom and Ray II is no different.

Every citizen, as incumbent citizens within the State of Texas, has certain responsibilities and undertakings to consider. Included in such considerations are the roles we are slated with when selecting an elected official for our Congressional District. This Congressional District representative is a person elected by “the people”, such as those in a city or county, in hopes that they will have a voice to represent the decisions designed to impact their areas, respectfully. One such Congressional District representative is Lamar Seeligson Smith.
After receiving a medical discharge from the U.S. Air Force, he returned to Alabama. In 1946, Wallace got a job as an assistant to the attorney general for the state of Alabama. Wallace polled to become state representative of Barbour County. During his jaunt as a state representative, he had a number of highlights. They included bills that issued in the industrial era that attracted hundreds of new industries. He was also involved with the GI and Dependents Scholarships Act that provides widows and children access to trade schools and colleges.
The Christian hero David has stood as an inspiration for numerous artists coming from a diverse set of backgrounds, as his story influences theses individuals in wanting to honor him by using him as an idea for their works. The basic story is David was a shepherd boy who lived in Israel. God chose David to take care of the Jewish people. The Philistine army was fighting the Israelis. A giant, Goliath, was part of the Philistine army and the Israelis were terrified of him. David was a young boy – not part of the army – but who was nearby. He saw how Goliath taunted and mocked the Israeli soldiers and he got angry. David volunteered to fight the giant. Not being a soldier, David wasn’t familiar with armor or weapons, and refused both. He went with his simple tunic and slingshot. David felt that his people were in the right and God would protect him – justice would prevail in spite of the weapons that the Philistine giant had. With one shot of his sling, he got a stone to pierce Goliath’s head, the giant collapsed, and David then took Goliath’s sword and cut off the giant’s head (Italian Renaissance).

The methodically use of discriminating against and segregating Black people, particularly as practiced in the South from the end of Reconstruction to the mid-20th century. Jim Crow is a name given to a group of laws to keep Blacks and Whites separate after the American Civil War. Lynching was the method of execution during Jim Crow era; it is now similar to death a penalty.
“Daisy! Daisy! Daisy! I’ll say it whenever I want to! Daisy! Dai–” (37). Daisy, a flower, feminine, white, pure, and yet yellow– the color of corruption. Daisy Buchanan is an indulgent, manipulative, and corrupt character that seeks out the weak in others for her personal gain. She dresses in lavender to show her indulgence in life, and her attitude that since she has money she can do whatever she wants. She murders a woman while driving a yellow car, because she knows none of the consequences will affect her because she can retreat back into her money. Daisy wears white to look angelic, but like a demon stepping on holy ground, it burns her because it’s all fake. Daisy Buchanan; a mother, a wife, a lover, a friend, an adulterer, and a murderer.
Jim Crow, a series of laws put into place after slavery by rich white Americans used in order to continue to subordinate African-Americans has existed for many years and continues to exist today in a different form, mass incarceration. Jim Crow laws when initially implemented were a series of anti-black laws that help segregate blacks from whites and kept blacks in a lower social, political, and economic status. In modern day, the term Jim Crow is used as a way to explain the mass incarcerations of blacks since Jim Crow laws were retracted. Through mass incarceration, blacks are continuously disenfranchised and subordinated by factors such as not being able to obtain housing, stoppage of income, and many other factors. Both generations of Jim Crow have been implemented through legal laws or ways that the government which helps to justify the implementation of this unjust treatment of blacks.
People have all different kinds of values, wants, needs, long-term goals, and short-term goals. Their differences come from many places such as religion or age. These differences are what makes each individuals values, wants, and needs make them unique to each person individually. My values, wants, needs, long-term, and short-term goals are all unique to myself.
Has it ever crossed your mind what exactly is that makes people relate to each other? Whether its simple things like food and music or more complex things like language and religion, the feeling of being part of something gives us a sense of satisfaction, and common ground. Humans have an inevitable need to belong. However when those factors that make people interconnect with each other becomes distorted, the results can be catastrophic. In this essay I will discuss the how the genocidal events that took place in the U.S. with the Native Americans, the Belgian Congo, and German South West Africa were carried out and why elements of exploitation, racialization, identity, and inferiority played a role in them.
Tough times challenged a boy like Jesse James growing up in Missouri. Internal conflicts during the Civil War devastated the state. Missouri, a border state, tried to stay neutral, but it seemed that the people of Missouri held different ideas. Violence broke out between southern sympathizers who wanted to secede and those loyal to the Union. Jesse James, best known as a dangerous and ruthless thief, murdered many innocent people, but many in the deep south continued to regard him as a hero. Some compared James to Robin Hood and admired him for his daring deeds. Jesse James, like many of his contemporaries, experienced an innocent early childhood, until the atrocities of the Civil War transformed him into the marauder that history portrayed.
