The book and the musical are very similar. The musical has a comedy feel to it which is why it's very amusing to watch. The words in the book and the lyrics in the musical are almost exactly the same which I have noticed. The narrator sings in both, the book and the musical. This is the first time that I've seen the narrator sing in a theatre production. According to the description box for the "Into the Woods" Video on YouTube, there were certain elements that changed from its original counterpart only slightly for the recording int order to better fit the screen rather than the stage such as the lighting and the minor costume differences. The description box also mentioned that there were pick up shots that were not filmed in front of an audience for various purposes. During some of the musical scenes, there are added words or sentences that aren't in the book. I think they did that so the sentence or sentences would make sense to the audience. The music that plays with the lyrics makes the scene more enjoyable to watch. With what the characters say and do in the scene, it is more humorous to watch. I like that there are stories within the main plot. I liked watching the musical more because it was amusing and entertaining to watch because of the characters and the dialogue that was given. Act One of the book and the musical was about the baker and his wife who couldn't receive a child. They went through many obstacles to retrieve the four items they needed for them to receive a child.
