I decided to interview my Father. My Father and Mother have been married for 26 years as of May. Growing up I could see how hard they worked for us kids and over the years I could see how their marriage grew and grew apart at time. They both worked hard for me, my brothers, and my sister growing up and I respect them so much for that. But as I got older I could see their relationship start to take a turn and thank god that they are still together today. I don’t know what I would do without both of my parents. He said that it is very hard to keep the relationship going. You have to have complete understand of your significant other, compromise, and admin when you’re wrong. He also said that marriage is a 24/7 job, when things get tough, you have to make things better and there will be those tough times. One thing that he stuck with me, he said to never try to fight the fight alone, always stand side by side, fight the fight together and that will be the biggest accomplishment for each other. I would have to say that my parents are very compassionate for each other. In the “Two American Families” documentary The Johnson’s reminded so much of family. Like I stated in the homework assignment, my Father worked as basement water proofer just like Mr. Johnson, he even opened up his own home inspection business just like Mr. Johnson. Mr. Johnson’s business didn’t succeed, but my Father’s business has taken off over the past year. Also, the rest of the family was identical to mine. My sister went to college, got her degree, myself just like their son, joined the Navy. My two brothers, just like their kids didn’t go to college and are working very hard to provide for the families they have now. Mrs. Johnson had a better job than my mother that was the only difference. My mother worked a variety of jobs growing up. Most of the time growing up she worked her day job and then went to her night job. I was amazed after watching that documentary on how close it was to my family. I had my Father watch the documentary because he didn’t believe it when I told him how close the Johnson family was to
