Tahsiniyyat is an Arabic term that means refinements, embellishment or luxuries. It is a distinct category of maslaha regarding to things or activities that embellish people’s lives. It doesn’t relieve hardships and basic needs but it adds elegance to life. Allah has allowed us to enjoy the sweetness of life and to enjoy our life.
This third stage of maqasid Al Shariah encourages cleanliness of the body and attire for ibadah, and recommend the wearing of perfume when attending the Friday prayers., things that would make us comfortable in living our life. It is a requirement that is not the vital and crucial but it give the perfection in life for example like the practice of sunat (circumcision) action and ethics held by Islam in daily life. …show more content…

The example of leading a comfortable life can come in many ways for example like sleeping on the beds, cooking food, provide a variety of different types of herbs, created and use a variety of tools for transportation, and etc is included into the al-tahsiniyyat.
However, when relating with the present or modern time, it is certainly very different from the past (during the imam mazhab and sahabat), then the first character of al-hajiyyat turned into al-daruriyyah. For example like electricity. Of course we think without any power human can stay alive and not lead to the extinction. People who still live in basic or simple in a modern city, its reliance on relatively high electric, traffic control, water purification and its flow into the tall buildings is high. Furthermore, carrying out various activities in the hospital, to run the factory, conducting various household appliances, and all depend on the power.
