Personal values Personal values are generally things that one believes in and are of great importance in ones’ life and endeavors. They describe an individual and vary from person to person as well as circumstances to circumstances because they change overtime. For instance one whom beliefs in hard work for success, self-reliance. Every individual has a core set of values regardless whether one is aware of them or not. It is vital to acknowledge ones values for they help in making the decision on how to live one’s life, values and decision-making. For total commitment to values, energy is required to implement and maintain values and results are success, happiness, and achievement. Main aim is to highlight various good values and to illustrate how they work in our daily living. In my case with Pat Brown during the Killarney conference, it was a rude shock after I realized a fraud has been committed and to make matters worse, my name in the list. I felt used and betrayed. From my personal point of view, I truly value and belief in total honesty, integrity, efficiency, competence accountability, self control, and self discipline. As a result, I maintained my honesty that I did not attended the alleged dinner and made it clear that despite my attempts through phone messages to have a meeting with Pat Brown, her busy schedule never allowed it. With a lot of humility, courage, and openness, I was ready to give dialogue a chance to set things straight. Moreover, other colleagues were present at the conference. Action Clearly, from all indications, there is a conflict of values between Pat Brown and myself. I was the offended party and already in a difficult situation. An organization appears united, successful, and easy to manage when its employees subscribe to similar goals (Suar, Khuntia, 2010). In conclusion, personal values are vital in human beings. Be it personal life, professional life or social life. Personal values help one avoid being in a conflicting, challenging situations and in case one finds him/herself in such; one is able to effectively and efficiently solve, overcome and forget the challenges, while remaining at peace with oneself and others, hence a feeling of mutual understanding and satisfaction. Ignoring values can lead to immeasurable losses in one’s life, as a result, it is the duty of every individual to learn and be aware of one's values and apply them efficiently in ones everyday living, working and relating.
