On page 63 of the eight grade springboard book it says that Oliver Stone said that “it’s true that there are no more heroes any more-but it is true that my own concept has radically changed over time.” This quote means that when he was younger his hero believes were fiction, but, now his believes are everyday ordinary people. Most people believe that heroes are not selfish. Heroes are smart and strong. Heroes could be ordinary people in any part of the world. Lots of hero stories are a hero with supernatural powers but there are same stories that are about ordinary people being heroes. On page 78 of the 8th grade springboard book the story A Definition of a Gentleman paragraph 4 when he says “He never speaks of himself unless asked to.” This can match the real world because a gentleman puts people before himself like heroes do. Lots of people show great examples of heroism in different ways. As Tristan Eugene Segers once said “I didn’t do anything special, but if the progress I have made inspires another wounded veteran to keep going, then that’s great. The quote you saw is a quote written by a veteran that lost his leg in an explosion by an IED that he drove over, but he inspired others to keep fighting even when you lose something that you love. This story can relate to a lot of wounded warriors that lost something that they loved and keep on going. The things that you heard are lots of what heroism is and how to know if someone is heroic. All of the information that you have received tells you that you don’t have to have superpowers to be a hero. Your hero’s perspective could have changed from when you were younger to the age you are now. This essay is like the real world because lots of ordinary people show acts of heroism every day.
