If a person has a smart phone, they can access the Internet using their smart phone for the search. One of the best advantages of easily obtainable information is it can be accessed anywhere and anytime. Fast food restaurants and other establishments offer free WiFi. A person may take their device into such an establishment and search all they want. With the Internet, a person can search for their information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. The major disadvantage of easily obtainable information is at times the information found is unreliable and questionable. If a person is unsure of the reliability of the information, they must verify the information before using it. The information may also be found on sites that aren’t secure. One increases their chances of bein hacked by using social media. The risks of viruses and malwares increase. On social media sometimes the truth is altered by lies and rumors. Social media causes distractions at school, work and takes away from families time together. Instead of concentrating on school assignments or their work, peole are checking into their social media sites. Home life has been affected also. For centuries humans have depended on natural evolutionary processes for intelligence. Gathering information or doing simple research was a process that required large amounts of time and equipment until the proper information was found. Over the past several years we have seen how technology has advanced for the better of humanity. In “Get Smarter” by Jamais Cascio he brings to our attention some of the ways technology has benefited us today and how it could continue to benefit us in the future as well. The internet has become one of the largest breakthroughs in technology and become one of the most helpful tools created so far.
Social media has a negative impact on our society today due to bullying, job stability, and in person conversations. Bullying affects people because they could attempt to commit suicide. When people have a job they could get in trouble if they start bashing on coworkers. In person conversations aren’t the best because people can give off false information about themselves.
Social Media is a great tool to have in the world's era in technology. It can do many great and unique tricks. Although society depends on social networks to keep most of our information private, info isn't always at stake, but that's not always the case. That is why some social networking accounts require a password from you, but even then, someone could still be at risk every time an individual posts a picture or message on social media. It's also not always a good idea to trust any security application to "stop" a cyber attack, but there are certain ways people can protect their personal privacy. Such as keep personal details at a minimum even when posting to friends; make sure all apps or applications on a phone are trustworthy to keep information on, and lastly many should have some form of identification similar to a Social Security Number.
The users find their information from several sources on the Internet. For example websites, blogs, wiki pages, e-news, e-books, e-libraries and even e-journals. The cost of information in general has drastically reduced since the advent of the Internet. With more number of people depending on the Internet for the Information on various fields and many different sources there could be some serious consequences of following the wrong advice.

Social media has become a rising trends in the world today. Through social media, anyone with internet access can interact with millions of people from different places.
One of the benefits of effortlessly obtaining information is the convenience and timeliness it takes to collect it through the various mass media channels. For the most part, advanced technology has caused information to be available instantaneously right at our fingertips by way of a tablet or smartphone regardless of where we are at the moment. Another advantage is that people can communicate, share, research, shop, and be entertained via the Internet providing easy access to information. The disadvantages to obtaining information with ease are that while searching for information on the Internet, it is a possibility that the site you select can put a virus on your device. And also, facing the fact that everyone nowadays can post information, it is possible that the effortlessly attained information found can be deceitful.

It can distract you from your family, work, and school work. It can distract you from special events and moments with your family. You can be so caught up in your sites you’re missing the most important events of your life. It can become an easy distraction from work and school work. Some people may just need to take a ‘break’ and then can get too caught up on social media that they will fail to return to their work. “Many companies have blocked social networks on their office Internet as addicted employees can distract themselves on such sites, instead of focusing on work” (Ta). For those that are in school, grades can begin to drop. Students procrastinate and will choose social media over writing that paper, doing their homework, or studying for a test. Spending too much time on social media can distract you from a certain task. Motivation slowly decreases the more social media is being used. Social media has nothing but negative effects on people’s minds. Social networking can become very addicting and people can get wrapped up in the drama and excitement of the cyber world. Social media, a quickly growing and popular knowledge outlet, can become dangerously addictive if the user lacks self-control. There are so many wonderful outcomes from the invention of social media. The biggest being how quickly news can spread. Anyone can share the news that they desire with a few taps on a screen. The fault in this action though, is that false testimonies can be spread just as quickly as true ones. The question is, does the positive outweigh the negative enough for a person to proceed with using social media? Without this innovative creation, though, communication would be dull and boring, so by all means, social media should be used.
