While Hamlet was offstage his “description of his psychological disease, manifested by his inability to sleep. As if under compulsion, he tells Horatio, he moved rashly to discover the commission for his death” (306). This is due to Hamlet killing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and his escape from the rough seas in the ocean. Throughout the play Hamlet neglects of connections and qualities to lead him to his downfall at the end and died. “Similarly, in Hamlet mental qualities of the hero are split off, not so that they may battle, but rather that they can be disclaimed, discarded, and displaced” (308). Even with Hamlet`s loss of morality it activates his act of revenge by temptations and his ability to manipulate people for his own use. These results put Hamlet`s mind into a “displacement would be symptomic of psychic distress and likely to reveal a continuing inner conflict” (309).
