Heddy Lamar was an actress who was once called, "The most beautiful woman in the world," is credited with the invention of secret communications or Wi-Fi. Although she is the inventor of Wi-Fi, many people at the time doubted that it would work simply because of her looks. She had gotten a patent for the invention, but because the Navy said it would not work, she raised money for war instead. Future inventors would take Lamar's idea, and they would create Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi has not only changed my life, it had changed everyone's life. A reason why Wi-Fi is the most important invention is because of safety. I can go on CNN's or NBC's website and find out about what is happening in the world, not only that, I can find out what is happening in my region. I have the ability to read about storms, such as hurricanes or blizzards that can affect me. I can also sign up for alerts that are sent right to my phone immediately warning me. In the summer there was a heavy rainstorm. Trees were falling down and it was dangerous. I received a tornado alert on my phone, because of that I knew that a tornado and power outage could take place anytime. Also, I can find shootings or fires that have happened or are happening in my neighborhood. It is much harder to be safe and alert of weather conditions without Wi-Fi. …show more content…
Most of my family live on the other side of the world. With Wi-Fi, my family and I can talk to our family members through video chat whenever we please. For my social studies project I have to interview my grandma. I'm going to video chat to interview her. Plane tickets are far too expensive to go see each one of our family members every day. Since we can video chat every day, thousands of dollars are being saved, and video chatting with other family members helps millions of people around the world communicate with their family members. The only reason this is possible is because of
From walkmans to CD players to iPods, technology has evolved over the succession of the years; humans have taken extensive steps towards a technological transformation that has revolutionized the manner in which several individuals communicate with one another. Likewise, various humans have opted for more modern methods to connect and contact their loved ones such as speaking on a cell phone, video chatting, e-mailing, instant messaging, and conversing through social media. With these contemporary methods of communication, global interaction has now been facilitated and easily accessible; conversing with individuals from across the world is as transparent and prompt as speaking with individuals within the same city. Nonetheless, these technological
The two articles Why Being a Thinker Means Pocketing your Cell Phone by Todd Leopold and Have smartphones killed boredom by Doug Gross both state valiant reasons to why smartphones and other electronics have changed our everyday lives.

Lyndon B. Johnson's, a man who was raised from humble beginnings was able to rise up in politics from a Representative, to a Senator, to Vice President, and finally becoming our nation’s 36th President. Starting off his presidency with tragedy due to John F. Kennedy’s assassination, he took the position of extending the legacy of JFK’s visions and making them his own during his time in office. Although Lyndon B. Johnson is not viewed as one of our greatest presidents due to his foreign policies and involvement in the Vietnam War, his achievements in domestic policies in my opinion has had the greatest developmental impact on politics in the US since 1945.
Using technology can help communicate with family members in other countries but is it actually communicating? We can agree on that communicating on the phone or online is not the same as communicating in person. We can 't see a persons body language, can 't hear or see signs, and can 't be interrupted by noises or someone else. In the article, “Saving the Lost Art of Conversation,” by Megan Garber, Turkle the psychologist

The Internet gives us an opportunity to be social connected with family and friends. Many of our family and friends live far way from us. Yet, we do not want to loose the connection with them. Social
There have been many inventions throughout history and some of them have been a lot more helpful than others. The GPS, the Pacemaker, and the cell phone are all very important innovations made to the new world. Without these modern day inventions a lot of thing and the way we interact would be different
As evident in Table 3, Wi–Fi is the preferred means of accessing the internet in all regards except for best coverage. With the continued expansion of Wi–Fi networks, this small disadvantage could be entirely mitigated.
As you can see for the most part, people are connecting to wireless from the moment they leave their home till they get to work and then back. Wireless communication definitely provides an advantage over wired networks due to its mobility, allowing users to connect from virtually anywhere.
The notion that the cell phone may one day become obsolete may never become reality. The concept of personal computing and communication (which is essentially what the smartphone is today) can never be defunct. Humans are built to connect with one another and we see instances of this throughout our lifetime. We are born into families, biological or not. We go to church to gather with our congregation. We’re sent to school to learn with other children our age. To eventually work with like-minded people, meet our spouses and have a family of our own. Our phones revolutionized even more with the bang of social media. The proliferation of social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram just to name a few, forever changed the dynamic of our social interactions. Through Instagram I can lie on the beaches of Cap Ferrat in the French Riviera with my cousin who visits there every year or I can open my Vine app and swim with tropical fishes in the Bahamas with my best friend Chelsi who loves the beach. In addition, cell phones enable us to interact with people we wouldn’t normally encounter. This not only permits us to learn from one other and the world around us, but we can help in times of need. In fact, during Hurricane Sandy our cell phones played an important role. In 2012 someone had the idea to create a Facebook page that bridged the gap between victims and good Samaritans
-Due to the era of technology, people can communicate virtually no matter how far they are located for instance using emails the way I had done.
It advances education substantially, saves many lives, allows communication throughout the world instantly, organizes so much information that is easily accessible, and helps with innovation and creativity in humans. Sure there are negatives to it, but what really matters is how much the positives and negatives weigh out. It has advanced the human race so far above any other race on Earth that we have trouble keeping up with it. The beauty behind it is that it can never stop advancing. There will always be that more that can be upgraded or invented, and it’s only getting better. What will be next? Flying cars powered by wind power? Just wait to see where we will be by the year
Throughout the years, there have been hundreds of inventions that have been created to change our way of life. These inventions have ranged from the beginning of time with the wheel through Thomas Edison’s invention of the light bulb, which had been used for years to keep houses lit. Possibly one of the greatest inventions in history that is still used today is the internet, which has made significant changes to how the day to day business is conducted.
