GUARDIAN ANGEL.
Vibrations of excitement and pleasure were evident in the air.It was the first day of summer break and the day was picturesque - cloudless skies, warm sun and the
cool breeze that played through my hair - and I was tempted to take mouthfuls of the rich air, fragrant with flavours of freedom and independence. This was a
usual condition that possessed me at the onset of every vacation.
I was seated at the window seat of the soaring bus bound to my all-time favourite holiday destination-the lush green forests and the mighty waterfalls. It was
when I was in ninth grade that we discovered this remote holiday spot near my uncle's estate.Set in a pristine and scenic background, stepping into this alcove of
nature was much similar to stepping away from civilisation,it's hustle and bustle into the venue where God and nature communed.
As the bus wound across the narrow lanes, nearly everyone in the bus was already in deep slumber and the others were too exhausted by the excitement of the day.
The silence was broken by a cry of agony.Everyone was shaken out of their daze.A moment of hushed silence and then absolute mayhem. The bus came to a
jerking halt.I was snapped out of my daydreams and was clueless for a moment, but slowly I realised that an elderly uncle amongst us had fainted and he was not
breathing.Amidst us,there were a few aunties who were nurses. All of them rushed to him, trying all emergency procedures to revive him but to no avail.Beside
him,his two kids were wailing while his desperate wife tried her best to get him to talk. When all their efforts failed,it was unanimously decided that we had to get
him to a nearby doctor or hospital.
Few of the adults rushed out of the bus in the hope of hitching a r...

...t I have the potential and heart to be a great doctor.Ever since I was young,I always had an inner push to reach out to people.I wanted to get down to the heart of suffering and vanquish all pain and misery.Though this maybe an idyllic dream of a 17 year old,I intend to make this a reality.I believe that through this noble profession,I will be able to do justice to my inner call. After all, aren't doctors meant to be guardian angels?
Born in India and raised in Qatar,I've a variety of options for attending college. But I chose to be a part of the best.I consider Weill Cornell Medical College, an outstanding hub of heavenly knowledge to be the place I belong. Not only can I benefit from the extensive resources that Weill Cornell provides but I believe that I can contribute something in return as well.Perhaps provide society with something extarordinary- the gift of LIFE.
It was another beautiful, July day. The sun was relentlessly beating down upon me as I diligently yanked weeds from the parched earth. Sweat was discharging from all my pores. In the background, waves were rhythmically crashing into the shoreline as boats and other watercraft zoomed past. The lake was buzzing with all sorts of people enjoying the gorgeous summer day while I was stuck performing manual labor. Despite it being an atypically arduous summer day, I could not fathom doing anything else.
Then, as quickly as it came, the scene abruptly faded away and I slowly awoke feeling confused and disoriented. I glanced around at my surroundings, and quickly did a double take to conclude that the circumstances were as legitimate as they seemed. A wave of panic encompassed me that left me gasping
"Wake up call," I could hear Coach on the other end of the line. "Wake everyone else up in the room and the bus will leave at seven."
While on vacation on The Disney Cruise, I, along with my family took a tour by boat to a small resort island. As we approached, I was awestruck by its beauty. I knew this was going to be fun, but had no idea that this place would be forever etched in my mind.
Like zombies we all stood there, blankly staring forward until another bus pulls through, looking up only when one comes to sight hoping it’s the right one. As the buses came and went I heard the faint roar of thunder beginning in the distance, I love the rain. I could not wait to get off campus so I could enjoy the storm in the comfort of my house. My bus finally arrived, and eagerly I boarded knowing as soon as I got home rain was sure to start falling.
Leathery leaves brushed against each other in the feeble breeze, almost as if they were whispering to me in a hushed tone. As I slowly made my up the steep and rocky path, I began to remember why I always enjoyed coming here. Summer after summer, the balmy smell lingered in the cool humid air, mixing with the scent of damp earth around me. Flowers were spread all across the luscious forest floor, leaving an enticing fragrance in their wake. Vines twisted up and around every tree, reaching magnificent heights and hiding parts of the fo...
The bus driver kept on driving around the bus and doing his job, which had the bus running for an extra 25 minutes after it was supposed to stop. The six men took turns raping and assaulting Jyoti in front of her friend, while the bus was running. Jyoti and her friend were almost beaten to death by these culprits while this was happening the bus driver did not step in and stop this situation from happening. They later were dumped off the bus naked, abused, and critically hurt. The victims were left on the ground for 15 minutes while onlookers observed the situation and did nothing. It took three individuals to get help for the young girl and her friend. She died 13 days later due to her injuries (Hindustantimes, pg.1). Jyoti 's death caused a public outcry and inspired India into fighting for a stance on crime against

Ever since I can remember, I have always dreamt of a career in medicine. I have always had a passion of saving others people's lives. Being a doctor is meant for me because I love taking the time throughout my day to make a difference in people's lives. I am willing to further my education for an extended amount of time just to fulfill my dreams of becoming a doctor. Others want to become a doctor because of money or prestige, I want to become a doctor to help the people that are ill. My grandmother, who has been suffering from Cancer for 3 years is recovering from therapy. Even though, she experiences skin problems frequently, the doctors are still doing everything in their power to help her recover. Her hair have started to grow back and she is back to her normal self. This is one of the reasons why I want to be a doctor. When one is a doctor, people look up to that individual when they are at their weakest point. When they have no one else a doctor helps maintain a sense of hope for the patient and his or her family. I will be honored to say that I will be the person people turn t...
Throughout my life, I have worked towards one goal which is to become a doctor. Medicine offers the opportunity for me to integrate different scopes of science while trying to improve human life. Medicine has intrigued me throughout all my life because it??s a never ending mystery and every answer has questions, and vice versa. Upon entering my career, I had assumed that professional and financial success would surely bring personal fulfillment. This realization triggered a process of self-searching that led me to medicine. The commitment to provide others with healthcare is a serious decision for anyone. As I examined my interests and goals, however, I underwent a process of personal growth that has propelled me towards a career as a physician. A career in medicine will allow me to integrate thoroughly my passion for science into a public-service framework. Since childhood, I have loved acquiring scientific knowledge, particularly involving biological processes. During my undergraduate studies, I displayed my ability to juggle competing demands while still maintaining my academic focus; I have succeeded at school while volunteering part time, spending time with family and friends, and working part-time. To better serve my expected patient population, I worked over my English and Korean language skills. I have come to discover that a job and even a good income, without another significant purpose, will not bring satisfaction. I planed to utilize my assets, namely my problem- solving affinity, strong work ethic, and interpersonal commitment, to craft a stimulating, personally rewarding career in medicine. I have taken stock of myself, considering my skills, experiences, and goals. I have looked to family and friends, some of whom are doctors, for advice. Because of this self-examination, I have decided to pursue a career in health care. The process has been difficult at times but always illuminating. Throughout it all, I have never lost confidence - the confidence that I will actively absorb all available medical knowledge, forge friendships with fellow students, and emerge from my training as a skilful and caring physician.
I believe this passion for helping others is truly what drives me to pursue my goal of a medical career. So long as my passion for helping others is with me, my determination to pursue this dream will remain, and only grow stronger. There is so much to improve, so many things to discover, and countless subjects to research in the medical field, and I hope to have a great impact
As I was boarding the bus I looked up for a vacant seat. What I saw then
It was one of those days where you’re glad to be awake early in the morning, before the afternoon gets scorching hot. The feeling of the cool breeze gently caressing your arms and legs is always something to look forward to, and many people would be swayed into taking a nice walk outside under the trees.
