The Great Pyramid of Giza is absolutely breathtaking and to this day remains quite the mystery. Historians and Egyptologist have many conflicting theories on who built the pyramids and for what purpose. According to traditional Egyptology, the Great Pyramid was built as a tomb for pharaoh Khufu in order to help him on his ascension to the afterlife. The Great Pyramid is said to built around “the year 2560 BCE during the Fourth dynasty. It is part of a complex of 3 large Pyramids in the Giza Necropolis located in modern Cairo, Egypt. The Great Pyramid is the largest of the three pyramids, and it is part of its own smaller complex that also contain …show more content…

Why were there no mummified pharaohs ever discovered in any of the pyramids? They contain no inscriptions whatsoever; they are bare an anonymous. Traditional Egyptologist also say the pyramids were built in 2500 BC, but that is also a theory/opinion. These monuments are made of stone and you cannot date stones by any objective technique and carbon dating only dates organic material, therefore we need to look to alternative sciences to put a date on these monuments. I believe that the story/chronology of the Pyramids are extremely different then traditional Egyptologist theorize. The Pyramids stand out on the Giza plateau with a magnetic lure calling to the open minded and intellectual people to come and unravel her mysteries. It is time to put the old regurgitated tomb theory to rest, theories are made to be challenged and broken. We must not get to attached to our belief systems and what we think we know; we must let evolution take its …show more content…

All three of the Pyramids have known chambers in them what they are for is unknown. All the major chambers are under the base of the pyramid underground, but the Great pyramid has the most intricate chamber, causeway and shaft system. In the Great Pyramid there is a subterranean chamber about 100ft down which contains the so called “queens” chamber which is completely arbitrary there is no actual evidence or basis for this assumption. There are also four very narrow 8inche by 8inch shafts in the Great Pyramid two coming from the king’s chamber, and two coming from the queen’s chamber. The two shafts coming from the king’s chamber pass up at and angle through the body of the Great Pyramid the and exit outside, the queens chamber doesn’t it ends somewhere in the vast stone pyramid. I found all this so intriguing but it raised even more questions. What are the chambers for? What are the shafts for? What are they used for? Why are the pyramids so astronomically and geometrically precise? Who was responsible for such an achievement, and why on earth would a monument so significant just be a tomb and that’s
