Support can go a long way. Whether if you are on site or online. Showing that you care can give that bit of happiness to one person. The act of giving will always be a beautiful thing. Give back organizations are supported greatly due to the fact that we humans know what it’s like to grieve and feel pain. Give back operations help hurting families and fighting families know that they are not alone. The operation that I supported was Light the Night. According to the organization, Light the Night is “a fundraising campaign of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) which brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the diseases, and shine a light on the importance of finding cures and providing …show more content…

As for cancer, cancer is one of the biggest killers of them all. The cancer organization states, “In 2014, there will be an estimated 1,665,540 new cancer cases diagnosed and 585,720 cancer deaths in the US.” Cancer is the second most common death in the US. According to the CDC, cancer kills twice as many human than AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. About one third of cancers can be prevented, but in some other countries such as third world countries, and middle, low income families don’t have the advanced technology as the fortunate and high income families. This is the most consistent I’ve been to an organization for as long as I can remember. I’ve always believed that community service is very important in everyone’s life regardless of who you are. I began community service in middle school by giving out food and clothes at my church’s pantry. The smiles on the people’s face when you both know it isn’t such a hard thing to do. It isn’t always about receiving, because the gift of giving can always impact your life more than getting. I believe community service will never end. We all need help and support some way somehow and participating in give back operations is the first step. It supplies reassurance, a shoulder to lean on, and a hand in need and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I recall the day of the walk I was in a booth reading some of the patients stories who lost their fight cancer and I was just overwhelmed and grateful of how many beautiful people there is around me and around the world. Yes there may be some not so good people, but at that moment I shed a tear to how beautiful it is to give back, and how beautiful it is to be
