Dear fellows , life can be short for a person, it only weights as a tiny pinch of dust among the entire universe, and we only have approximate twenty years of growth, but we have to pay the rest of our life preparing for death. Our bones will once become fragile, our skin will gradually become loose, our eyes will fade away the childhood light, and our cells, organs, and tissues will also steadily degenerate. However, as we are still alive, our life is meaningful, every little piece of you can be worthwhile. Don’t believe? Let me list some possibilities, a sample of hair or a piece of fingernail could be a crucial evidence in a case ( for example, in the movie Gattaca, all the storylines were brought up from antagonist's eyelash); it might be sound gross, but the truth is that your faeces are the best nutrient for plants in order for you to consume in the future; even your breath can contribute to the entire oxygen and carbon cycle! So what are you guys waiting for? What we are looking for is how to make our life significant, and we …show more content…

Many students who are enrolled in FFA are already heading in the right direction to a bright future. FFA has many career benefits within the program. Any of the career development events (CDE’s) have something that will tie to a career in agriculture or to a career of other sorts. According to the National FFA Organization, “FFA members embrace concepts taught in agricultural science classrooms nationwide, build valuable skills through hands-on experiential learning and each year demonstrate their proficiency in competitions based on real-world agricultural skills”(“Statistics”). There are so many careers that tie into FFA, and many of them have to do with agriculture. Not every career that has to do with agriculture is about farming. There are so many different aspects of the agriculture industry that many people never think twice about. Most people are not interested in agriculture because they think it is just about farming or
The Taco Bell and KFC “micro brand” known as ZAK Family Foods is successful for three important reasons: a concept of family, a passion for progress, and a dedication to social responsibility. These three elements have evolved organically from the brand’s very beginnings. In 1979, Jerry Zakaras, now CEO and Franchisee of ZAK Family Foods, began his journey to support his family as a Restaurant General Manager for a Pizza Hut in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. His cooperation with those working with him in the restaurant expressed itself in a way that was very familiar; it was the restaurant family. His value for family was what motivated him to explore the restaurant world, and it was what opened the doors to his business success.
In America, knives, forks, and spoons are necessary tools people have in order to function properly everyday. Without cutlery, people would continue to eat with their dirty, bacteria covered hands, slurping and licking their way through their meals. People would drink bowls of hot soup, maul steak like a feral dog stealing his first bone in weeks, and scoop large chunks of ice cream with frostbitten fingers. Like most individuals in the world, I never put too much thought into how important a spoon was until I needed it. I especially did not care where my family’s flatware came from or how they were created, as long as it was in the cabinet when I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat. Unfortunately, no one cares about a spoon, a fork, or
Do you comprehend what “glittering generalities” is? Glittering generalities is a vague word or phrase used to evoke positive feelings rather than to convey information to others. The type of advertisement EvoShield is using is glittering generalities. It’s a black background with a yellow EvoShield logo in the middle and right under it in capital white letters it states ¨Protective Gear For Elite Performance.” EvoShield used that advertisement to convince customers that their product is the best product out and they should buy it. “Protective Gear For Elite Performance” states that EvoShield’s gear/equipment will improve performance and limit errors that you or other equipment will commit.
Michael Troquier’s prezi resume is a really unique idea, but the resume seemed too long. Micheal tried to make the resume fun and entertaining, but it was too long and time consuming. Adding a comic was a cool way to discuss the project, and helped better understand the project. The comic was very informative and helped draw the viewer's attention, but it did not see too professional. Overall, the resume was really informative and easy to read.
“Man masters nature not by force but by understanding. This is why science has succeeded where magic failed: because it has looked for no spell to cast over nature”. From the beginning of time man and nature has been in conflict with one another because, as a whole, there is no cooperating. Each one tirelessly wants its way. The Man is fighting for dominance and nature w never yielding its authority. In American Literature, many authors illustrate this theme in their writing. Specifically the writers Jack London in The Law Of Life, Stephen Crane The Open Boat and Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Fin. Each explores the relationship between humans and nature but with slightly different methods. Mark Twain uses nature in a realistic way, Jack London in a naturalistic way and Stephen Crane constitutes a combination of both.
“After researching several years in in El Cajon English teacher Juliet Ellery was finally fired”. Before the research she was announced to be unsuited to teach but due to her teacher tenure, parents and school officials were unable to do anything. But it took eight years and more than $300,000 for the district to win its case. The reason behind Ellery not being fired on the first place was due to the advantages of her teacher tenure. Teacher tenure is compelling students to study under a bad teacher who does not have skill set to teach well and he/she still will be in job because of the tenure. Despite giving security to teachers, teacher tenure must go through a massive reform so that the good teachers will still there without any complication Not to forget teachers like Ellery hardly ever lectured, gave baffling assignments, belittled students and ignored repeated efforts by the high school principal to get her to improve. However, like what happened with Juliet Ellery, who was defended despite having over 400 evidences against her, there are many cases similar where teachers who need to be sack are protected by teacher tenure.
Argument can be defined as claim or thesis statement. The aim of an argument is to convince audience. It is essential to make sound argument so that audience could engage in and align with the author’s view. Therefore, one of the key elements could be identified as the awareness of audience. Another key element is evidence. In order to persuade audience, argument should be consolidated through evidence and authority. The credibility of author and argument could be enhanced by means of using evidence and referring to authorities. The strength of evidence could determine the degree of sound argument. Besides, sound argument should be logical. Firstly, evidence should be consistent with arguments. Secondly, the structure of argument should be clear. It consists of premise and conclusion. The function of premise is to state proposition. The conclusion is based on and supported by accurate premise. In sound argument both premise and conclusion are valid. However, according to Tyler, Kossen and Ryan (2005: 168) sound argument is both valid which means logically consistent and true argument. Hence, the premise of an argument also need to be true. Furthermore, counterargument could be considered as another key element of sound argument. Using counterargument in text can reinforce writer’s argument through discussing and addressing opposed opinion. However, writers need to ensure that your reply to counterargument is consistent with your main argument. The last element is to avoid fallacies. There are two kinds of common fallacies, legitimate and illegitimate methods of argument. Both of them may lead to flaw or fault in the reasoning and logic.
In conclusion my expectations were met because we all want to be a certain hero in our everyday lives but sometimes don’t know which one is actually the better and more positive one. Strength, power, intelligence, and authority are the most important things the outlaw hero and official hero will bring even if they are above a certain rule or really beneath it. Outlaws are not always the bad guys, but are not always the good guys either. In this case Batman is the good guy disguised as the bad guy. Official heroes are always the good guys no matter the circumstance. Superman in this case is the good guy disguised as the actual good guy. Being above the law or against it, official heroes and outlaw heroes will always paint the picture that you can be strong, powerful, intelligent, and have the authority you deserve.
To be an American is to be hopeful, grateful and able to pursue one’s own dreams and achieve happiness with hard work and determination without being persecuted. It is to be an individual governed by natural rights stated in the Bill of Rights. Holden the troubled boy in J.D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye does not embody those American ideals. He is troubled by uncertainty about the world at seventeen years of age and is bleak, and innocent about people, things, around him. Holden is not an American at heart because he doesn’t put in effort and determination nor is he hopeful or grateful.
They would not let her use the restroom so she went to the restroom in her pants in front of all the girls. She was also forced into telling everyone the people who Gang-raped her “resulting in the abortion that marred her at sixteen years old” (Callaway 53). The Aunts kept them under a strict control by using punishment because that was all that they could do. They were not allowed to be educated. They would first start at the feet if something was done wrong.
Guha described in his article that only middle to upper class individuals care about environmental problems occurring. This can be because money that impoverished people have need to go towards food, shelter, clothing, and other necessities, not environmental movements. Although, maintaining the environment, in my opinion, is essential to human existence. Humans should not want to live in a place where the smog chokes a person when they walk outside. Therefore, to learn from Guha, more programs to help and improve environments in areas that are poor are necessary. This could also lead to better health conditions for individuals, as smog and other problems can affect people negatively.
Whether it be survival, greed, or love, the question of what drives human behavior is a hotly debated subject. It really is. Prominent in popular culture, themes of the driving force behind human behavior ranges from modern shows like House of Cards and The Walking Dead to classic novels such as Animal Farm and Romeo and Juliet. Trust me, you’d know if you saw ‘em. Phony entertainment meant to make some goddam idiots think they’re something special. However, the idea that a person’s worldview determines said person’s behavior is a less controversial topic. Words like controversial, they kill me. Long words that some goddam student uses to sound smart when they could just say some other word. Written by J.D Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
"Are we the United States of America or the Democratic/Republican States of America. Or maybe the Black/White States of America. And even the Christian/Muslim States of America. We are not the United States until a man can walk out his front door, say hi to his gay neighbor, converse about the weather with his black friend, ride a commuter train sitting next to a Muslim, go to work for a female boss that gets paid the same as her male predecessors, then come home to a wife that he respects. That's the United States of America.
One of my hardest adversities took place around one and a half years ago. One of my teachers had found Gatton Academy, and told me about it, and, eventually, sent my parents to look into it. Soon we discovered that Gatton was a capital opportunity for me. In fact, as I had finished the majority of the math classes at the school, they thought it a stupendous idea to advance me a couple of grades. As I needed my freshman grades for Gatton, they brought me to the ninth grade. This was quite tough for me, as I would need to say adieu to long-time comrades (or at least visit with them less often), and would need to find an entirely new group of friends, which I feared may not exist. However, realizing that opportunity was there to be taken, I took
