Among young people today violence and clothing at schools have been labeled as a potential threat to the academic success of children. Four of eight students reports being a victim of a crime, being threatened at school, and or have been victimized at school. The fashion trend at schools especially at urban schools, are largely dominated by children wearing gang-related or gang-like clothing. The problem is gangs violence and school violence. These issues have been disscuse in several studies. For example during school boards meeting the board does talk about issues about gang related clothing and members of gangs roaming the streets near the schools, and how often they enter the schools. Children that are wearing similar styles are more likely to wear oversized shirts and pants to school. To add to the argument, the color of clothing that students wear can result in becoming targets of violence. Also one in three youths reports that they can easily get access to a handgun. Children do envy other children's clothing because lack of financial resources to purchase similar styles. Children have been murdered for their designer clothes, sneakers, or professional sport-team paraphernalia. In many other discussion their were debates about school uniforms should be required to wear to show that wearing the same clothing would send a message that all students belong on the same team, and decrease violence toward each other, and reduce occurrences. Some school should mandate the use of uniforms on campuses to reduced tardiness, skipping of classes, suspensions, and discipline referrals among students. People does have their owns views about uniforms. To them the question linger in their minds does uniforms really help or does it make the situation worst. Yes wearing uniforms does help situation by reduce peer pressure, competition, and prevent assault on younger kids.

Virginia Draa, an assistant professor at Youngstown State University studied the attendance records, graduation, and proficiency passing rates at sixty four public high schools in Ohio. Ms Draa mention in the article (2014) "I really went into this thinking uniforms don't make a difference, but Im seeing that the uniforms do”. Ms Draa's studies included schools with uniform policies that did improved in attendance, graduation and suspension rates. Her studies did conducted that uniforms does play a good role for public school to invest in and also prove that uniforms policies make an good impact on youths to have self esteem to make something of themselves to
