Pants below waist, baggy shirts with sexist signs, and piercings, this is not a good view early in the morning. That’s why the school should implement a uniform policy. Uniforms should be mandatory in school. Uniforms make the school appear more professional. Also with uniforms students won’t compare themselves with each other. Moreover uniforms can help students save time. Additionally parents won’t have to waste so much money on clothes hence will have a better budget.
A major reason that schools should have uniforms is because students will get along better. They wouldn’t compare each other based on whose wearing what. This is opposed to a school with no uniform some students will feel inferior to the one’s wearing brand name clothes. Also uniforms lower the chances of jealousy between the students. The students would feel more unified with each other. Further more school uniforms can alleviate school violence, because it will help kids with less money escape the teasing they would get if the school had no uniforms. Having some sameness can create a safe environment in schools. Having school uniforms can help decrease in-school violence, theft rates and gang colors. School uniforms can also eliminate distraction that clothes can cause. According to a study done at a Long Beach middle school overall school crime decreased by 36% when they enforced a mandatory program. If people did not have to wear school uniforms gang rates may go up, theft rate would be higher and it would help the school see who belongs at school and who doesn’t. You need school uniforms to have a safe environment for people to teach and learn.
... Bare midriffs, or bare backs Tights, leggings, bike shorts, swim suits or pajamas as outerwear Visible piercings, Dog collars, tongue rings studs, wallet chains, large hair clips, or chains that connect from one part of the body to another. So to avoid this in my opinion I think all students should wear the uniform because it help prevent gangs from forming on campus , Encourage discipline , help students resist peer pressure to buy trendy clothes , help identify intruders in the school , diminish economic and social barriers between students and increase a sense of belonging and school pride and Improve attendance. So people should come together to make school a more focused on school and work place and not letting students get distracted by other things such as what they’ll wear that day or what will they say if I wear this by making school uniforms mandatory.
Students are becoming more concerned with what they are wearing and they are being distracted from the learning process. Although many students are not happy with the strictness some of the school’s new uniform policies, the policies should stay in place in order to increase school safety, devote student’s attention to learning and reduce bullying and peer pressure.
Ever wonder what it would look like to have all students wearing the same white polo shirt, black pants, and a district sweater walking in the hallway? Nowadays, public school and many districts are discussing the possibilities of enforcing the uniform policy. In most places, many private schools already require students to have their mandatory uniforms; however, there are only a few public schools adopting this mandatory school-uniform polices as one of their enrollment requirements. The reason why not all public schools participated was because people believe that they are violating the freedom of choice when enforcing this mandatory uniform policy; yet problems such as bullying and segregation, emerged in these schools. Some people still think uniforms have no benefits at all. However, all public school students should be required to wear uniforms because it would improve the academic performance, reduce the violent behaviors based on appearance judgment, and provide less stress for both parents and students.
Public schools need to be brought back under control by changing the learning system in some of the simplest ways. Today’s schools’ system is not doing as well as before. The crime rate has risen, a significant amount of girls are being sexually harassed, and bulling in schools has gone to a whole other level. With “gangsters” roaming the halls; kids don’t feel safe because they are being harassed. The worst part of the many students is that their discipline is rotten and has got to be rebuilt. There is a solution to all these problems. Public schools, K-12, must implement school uniforms across the nation to bring the benefits of a decent education system.
I have seen here, in the USA few public schools have need of students to wear a uniform. I went to school in Mexico City and I got to wear uniform every day. It is very common there for students to be dress in uniforms. Most of the time, I think kids in this country are very spoiled and very selfish too. For them to wear an uniform to go to school it is very offensive. The reason is they think they can no longer express themselves. I agree that asking students to wear a uniform won’t change their attitude, or how they need to behave in school. I think schools should require for each student to have a uniform. So can everyone be treated as equal and not have differences. I suggest that public schools should command students to wear uniforms.
There is a possibility of violence due to an article of clothing. If a student is dressed up similar to a member of a gang, another student who does not like that gang might plan to attack that person. In this case uniforms can protect the safety of another. Many people believe if you compare a uniform school with a non-uniform school, you?ll see that violence is much popular in the non-uniform school. As said above clothing can be quite expensive, how would one feel if their garment has been misplaced or stolen? A lot of students love to brag about their shoes, especially sport shoes, when they first buy it. Famous Sport shoes are worth $120 on average, and not everybody in the school is Happy. Envy takes place when a student replaces their new shoe, with an old one for a gym class. The other student returns to the changing room, and finds out that his new sport shoes have disappeared. The shoe that had cost a lot of money, and now it?s gone! This would have never happened if the school the student goes to makes a uniform compulsory. Instead of bring a students fancy shoes that student would have brought his leather shoes, that matches the school uniform. Uniform decreases the amount of theft on school property. Uniforms make it harder for strangers to sneak in the school, because for sure they?ll be the center of everyone?
In society today, school-age children are under tremendous pressure to fit in with their peers and still perform well academically. I believe that school uniforms at pre-K through high school levels are an excellent way to help children succeed not only in school, but to prepare them for college and the “real world.” Three reasons why I believe school uniforms should be used in all schools is first, they are economic, next, they reduce distractions and finally, they help with social equality. To begin, school uniforms are economic. When schools have a uniform policy, it makes it easier on the children and parents.
School Uniforms: A Positive or Negative Effect? Today, school uniforms and dress codes are controversial. School uniforms for high school students have numerous positive effects, but at the same time, they have a variety of negative effects too. School uniforms positive effects are shown through attendance records, academics, and behavior; but its negative effects violates ones individuality and increases the amount of money spent on clothes.
Is her midriff showing? Are her shorts to short? Is her bra visible? Do these shoes look right with her outfit? These are all conflicts that could be avoided with school uniforms. School uniforms are special clothes worn by students from a particular school. They typically include bottoms in neutral colors like khaki, black, or even dark green, and tops that are either neutral or in the school colors. Sometimes the uniforms will include a special striped tie in the school colors for both girls and boys. The girls may also have the option to wear pants, skirts, or dresses. Students may or may not be required to wear specific shoes. Historically private schools mainly required uniforms which began in the sixteenth century in England. A statement
School uniforms should be part of the school systems, because statistics had shown that students who wear uniforms are doing better than dress codes. More students also feel a sense of equality among each other and there are fewer judgments of others. It allows teacher quickly to identify people who do not belong in the building and limit the ways that gangs can identify themselves. School outfit provides students identity, individual spirit, and pride. Uniforms are increasing throughout different schools. School uniforms make students look more formal, and progressively affects student’s self-esteem, discipline, and safety, and develops students be more confident of what they can achieve in life.
By requiring school uniforms in public schools, education will be improved. A dress code will enforce discipline toward learning. Uniforms improve a person’s outlook toward success. Students generally act the way they are dressed. With fewer distractions, students see the school as a workplace for teaching and learning. Students also have less stress in their lives because they are not in a fashion competition. Dress codes also lead to a change in grades. Mainly this happens because the student’s attendance comes up. There is also a change in grades because it is easier to focus when everyone looks alike.
Schools requiring uniforms will experience reduction in violence. Without the pressure of competing with different styles, students are more relaxed in school. They will feel equal and at peace, leading to disappearing thoughts of violence. Obligated uniforms will reduce the weapon dilemma considerably. They will be harder to conceal with all students dressed the identically, therefore fewer will be brought to school.
Since the 1990 's schools have reported amazing results by mandating a school uniform policy. Konheim-Kalkstein, Y. L (2006) write: “ School uniforms, proponents have said, can lead to improved discipline and classroom behavior, increased school attendance, respect for teachers, better school performance, higher student self-esteem and confidence, lower
(“Quotes about Uniform Policy” 1). Theodore R. Mitchell, UCLA School of Education says, "I think its great news for all of us who have advocated school uniforms as a way of building community.” A pressing issue, bullying has become a big problem in many school, and to eliminate this problem, school policies should require students to wear uniforms. Many people believe that school uniforms build the community into a safer, more positive environment. School uniforms improve school academics, prevent gang violence, and assist families, who can not afford expensive clothing.
