Job Description for Game Knights Game Knights is the name of the game store I want to create. This business will need employees for the opening day. In the world renown book, Good to Great, Collins (2001) says that employers need to be able to get the right person in the right job. This idea emphasizes the importance of who is going to be the perfect fit for the business. Great success can come to a game store like Game Knights if I hire the right team for the mission. Our mission is to provide gaming enthusiasts with a gaming location for them to enjoy local gaming events and a large selection of games to choose from. Games Knights will offer fun and competitive gaming events every week. Our goals is to bring people together through the enjoyment of casual gaming hobbies and provide them with an amazing an inspiring environment for their games. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Games Store Cashier position requires an employee that able to sell retail merchandise. A specific focus for this position is an employee that is very knowledgeable in Miniature Games like War Hammer, Star Wars W-wing, and Rune Wars. The employee needs to also be knowledgeable in role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, Shadowrun, and DragonAge. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Must be able to conduct sales transitions. Must be able to price collectables for sale. The employee must be able to host specific gaming events for local gamers. The number represents how often the employee does the task or how well the employee does the task. The five-task listed is simply a baseline and more task can be added as needed. Also, this is the matrix of only one employee. Additional employees can be added in different colors to show the overall strength of a team. In the diagram example provided, this employee is relatively strong in all areas, but not in hosting gaming events. Pairing this employee with someone who is strong with hosting gaming events can ensure that Game Knights is staffed properly to serve their customers. I could even show this matrix to my employee so they understand their strengths and weaknesses.
