Americas Food industries have made a mockery of our health. Whether it be what we think is 100% all natural food to what can be called the most over processed food in the world, whatever we consume in our society today has no benefit to us, at all! Imagine a world where everything we eat only brings us closer and closer to death, faster than the speed of light, yet we have no realization that it is happening. This is the world and the producers of our food have no care towards whether we live or die, healthy or unhealthy once money for their end is being made. Nonetheless, we cannot change the way processed food manufactures view our health but they can change the way our food is made.

Not only does this persuade buyers that they are getting more for their dollar in these tough times yet it makes them think that they need to eat as much as they buy. In “How Junk Food Can End Obesity” by author David H. Freedman, he talks about how our society is more reliant on fast foods than the slower way of preparing foods (page number). This is due to the fact that everything about today’s society is being moved at a faster pace than humans can keep up with and a consequence of this is food process change. The faster and easier food can be made the faster people can eat and get back onto the worlds nonstop treadmill but the sicker we become. With this food also comes at less cost. This is discussed more by Nestle in his piece “The Supermarket: Prime Real Estate”. Pricing food has everything to do with what we as consumers will buy. Freedman states that junk food is our solution and he may be right (page number). Our society has evolved over time and new adaptations have occurred, so to change the way we eat and what is placed in we eat it must all start with processed foods. He mentions in his article “How Junk Food Can Obesity”, that the solution is to make junk food healthier (page number). However, Michael Pollan, in his article “Escape from the Western Diet”, argues that we should just quit our food cycle completely and move back to a time where people eat what they could catch (page number). What he means by this is that the Western Diet is built to keep us as unhealthy as possible. It gives not exact measurements of what we should eat or how much of it we should consume. Yet because this diet has been embed into the American society for so long it is almost impossible for anyone to do. Freedman states that people won’t just change the way they do things and cannot be expected to change when society is built how it is. The poor are surrounded by fast processed food and are too busy trying to make a living to do any better. So rather than telling or expecting people to make a dramatic change that will benefit them food manufacturers should make the change that will do it for them. Freedman thinks this is a
