Exceeding Expectations: Course Analysis

In this course I think I should be getting an "exceeding expectations" and here is why. In this class we have had multiple projects, assignments, and in class presentations. As the course has progressed I have grown and learned how to use multiple applications like, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Tinker cad. Using all of these programs I learned how to use them at different points in time to make one big video. For example, the most recent project, the PSA/ Trailer where I used Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe after Effects to make the best video I could. I used Photoshop to make the transition title cards so it would look nicer, then I used Adobe Premiere Pro to combine all of the audio and video …show more content…

The reason I decided to include this as an example of why I should be getting an "exceeding expectations" is in the commercial is because in the commercial I play as a Spokesperson for a balloon selling company, the only issue was, when we recorded the video there was no sound! So, to fix this I came up with the idea of doing a voice over, which.....was actually much harder than I imagined. But in the end, we did get together and finish the voiceover which was great! Except we hadn't done any effects yet. So, I worked on trying to finish off the project (which I did get done in time) whilst Hayden was away, and Shreya was feeling sick. But I did get some cool effects in the project, like when the balloon switched colours I used the effect called "Change Colour to Colour" then I put a mask around the balloon so the colour would only go to the balloon, not the entire screen. Which is why I am choosing the commercial assignment to explain to you why I should be getting an "exceeding expectations," because it shows how I used multiple effects and skills to make the video. As well as, following the "BC curriculum" for digital media 9 when it says "Ideating" because I took a risk with the voiceover, not knowing if it would sync well with the …show more content…

For example, I learned how to edit the audio so I could make certain sounds louder or quieter depending on what I needed to do. This is shown in multiple projects like the PSA/ Tutorial assignment where I made the background music a lot quieter when someone was talking. Also, in the Sound assignment when I had to try and make the audio around the same volume as I got further away. Another skill I learned in Premiere was how to edit clips of video or audio to make them the correct length or if I needed to cut something out. I used this tool in many assignments but the main two I used them in was the Commerical assignment, where the audio didn't match what I my mouth was saying so I had to cut the audio to fit in the video. The other video is "Video Assignment Two," where we had to show different camera angle shots, and I had to cut some of the video clips because they were too long and did not relate to the video. Which is why I chose this example, because it shows how I use skills that I had learned to better other projects or
