The character from Romeo and Juliet whom I believe is most responsible for the various deaths throughout the play is Romeo. The character of Romeo is responsible for the death of Lady Montague because Romeo banished his home town after killing Tybalt in a duel after Mercutio was stabbed under in the arm, as a mistake. When Romeo banished the town, he went to Friar Lawrence to hide out there, so the Prince will not be able to find him after the killing of Tybalt. When Lady Montague found out about Romeo's banishment, she fell into a depression because Romeo ran away from home. A little later on, Lady Montague died of a heart attack.
