Rule 1: You are your own success, no one will meet you half way. Whether you are committing yourself to your job, family, career or playing sports, it is important to exert yourself. The value of commitment pays off since it will inspire others to commit themselves to their daily lives. As for myself, I made a commitment to complete my education and gain my bachelor degree in four years. For years, it has been my goal to obtain an Associate degree. I’ve motivated myself and received my A.A. degree in two years. Once I have acquired it, I decided to continue to get a bachelor degree. I’ve often reminded myself that is my responsibility to gain my success. Rule 2: Respect yourself and others or self-worth will slowly dwindle. Respecting yourself and others is honoring to be considerate of others. Respecting yourself is priority and from there you earn respect. My grandmother’s place was in a rural area where she had no electricity or running water. I did my best to entertain myself around her place and I definitely got home sick. There was no vehicle to take me home, since my grandmother did not drive. I had to wait a week to get back to my hometown. I made the decision to go to my grandmother’s because I assumed my cousin’s will be there too. But in this case, their spring break was the week after. I was upset with my parent about what had happened, but they told me it was my decision to spend a week with my grandmother.
