Environmental pollution is the presence of substances and conditions that adversely affect the health and well-being of people within a community, usually substances in the air and water supply. The three most common forms of environmental pollution are soil pollution, air pollution, and water pollution. While every form of environmental pollution is detrimental to the environment and to the humans inhabiting it, there are many ways for humans to help decrease pollution in the environment.
Water Pollution
Water pollution is one of the world’s biggest health risks. This form of pollution poses a threat to the quality of life and public health within a community. Water can be polluted in a number of different ways. For one, when water from rain or melting snow runs off roofs and roads and into lakes and rivers, it picks up bacteria, trash, chemicals, disease-carrying organisms and toxins along the way. Also, water can be polluted by the dumping of waste into rivers and other bodies of water. Furthermore, water can be polluted from acid rain. This dumping is usually caused by farms or industrial factories (Protecting clean water ).
Water pollution is a major crisis. This is evident as 768 million people in the world do not have access to sanitized water. In addition, every year, around sixty million kids are born into homes without access to clean water. Also, at any given time, nearly half the people in the developing world are suffering from one or more of the main diseases associated with dirty water and inadequate sanitation such as diarrhea, guinea worm, trachoma and schistosomiasis. Last of all, around 700,000 children die daily due to unclean water, this is about 2,000 children each day (Wateraid America statistics...

To conclude, there is soil pollution. Soil pollution can contaminate plants that are grown in the area, and these pollutants can also affect children. Examples of soil pollution are lead, mercury, PAHs, and hydrocarbons. These pollutants can be restricted by testing soil for any toxins, and if any are found, they should be reported to a pollution center.
While all forms of these pollutants are very dangerous and increasing rapidly, they can be contained. If every person steps up and does there part and does the little things, these different forms of pollution can be decreased. While doing these things may be time consuming, it creates a higher quality of living when there is less pollution roaming amongst us.
