Many things have changed from the 1950s, including entrepreneurship. Technology has made the option of becoming an entrepreneur accessible to almost anyone. However, we are beginning to see a decline in entrepreneurs in the United States, this is due to large companies who seem to be spreading all over the United States and into other countries like a wildfire. The big start to entrepreneurs becoming popular was after World War two when Americans were no longer worrying about the future and instead could see something better. That is why entrepreneurship took off in the 1950’s, it had progressed for many years creating new jobs and opportunities but recently we have come to a drop in opportunities for people seeking to be entrepreneurs. Technology has changed the way entrepreneurs handle their businesses. Social media has had a huge impact on businesses and their practices. It has made global growth and development easy for an entrepreneur to attain. Online advertising has grown significantly over the past year due greatly to social media. “U.S. online publisher sites delivered more than 417 billion ad impressions in September 2010, an increase of 26 percent versus a year ago”. We need to get back on track with this again. Entrepreneurs are very important in our society as they promote job growth. 80% of all businesses fail and a large reason why is due to large corporations. The government needs to promote a more entrepreneur friendly economy. A small business lifestyle less based on large corporations. There could also be restrictions on large corporations so that small businesses are at least given a chance to thrive in the economy without dangerous
