ENFP also known as the campaigner is my personality type (16 personalities). I never realized what my personality type was until after finally doing this paper. It was a very eye opening assignment and made me realize and understand my personality type so much more. It’s exciting to know how I work. It amazes me at how I represent the ENFP exactly how it’s described, it’s crazy. I feel like I can better myself now, knowing that that’s just normal or my personality type. Before I would question myself on why I could never focus on just one task at a time, I would always want to explore more before I was finished. He then goes on to describe INTJs as self confident, balanced, intelligent, independent, and competent (Kroeger, 2002). Typology has helped me to recognize the strengths of my personality but also the weaknesses. INTJs can lack in interpersonal skills, communication, asking for help, and teaching. They can sometimes come off as controlling and arrogant. For example, we recently put in new machinery at work which required each of us to have additional training. The general personality traits, which are related to success both in and outside the workplace, are all inherent in my answers given in the Leadership Assessment Quiz. With statements such as, “it is easy for me to compliment others” and “team members listen to me when I speak,” it is apparent I possess these characteristics. Whereas my task- related personality traits associated with successful leadership, such as courage, still need to be developed. Not only do I know this in myself, but it is clearly pointed out throughout the test, with statements such as, “resolving conflict is an activity I enjoy” and “I would enjoy coaching other members of the team”.
The bases of this paper will be based on the results that I had obtained when I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. The results that I had obtained was that I was determined to be an ENFJ. I will go into depth about letter and how each represents that a specific aspect of my personality. The results that I had received were not what I had expected, but the more I read about the trait the more I realized how it suited me. I will also talk about the information that I had found useful from the book, Type Talk at Work: How the 16 Personalities Types Determine Your Success on the Job by Otto Kroeger, which gave me insight on how to interact with other personality types especially in the work environment. The information that I absorbed from the personality test and from the book will go into use in my personal and work life so that both environments will be cohesive and peaceful.
Abstract: This paper observes a particular personality trait. The ESTJ personality trait is the acronym for Extraverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging. The paper will highlight the characteristics of ESTJ and will breakdown each letter of this acronym. This paper will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of ESTJ and observe and examine the applications of work and ESTJ in a personal example.
The first test is 16 Personalities which give the result based on the main traits that form the personality type. Based on the result, I am considered as a “The Commander” (ENTJ-A) and my role is the analyst. ENTJ-A is the abbreviation of the main traits that form my personality which are extraversion, intuition, thinking, judgment and assertiveness. The main strengths of this type of personality are self-confidence, strategic thinking, charismatic and inspiring while the main weakness are the stubbornness, poor handling of emotions and ruthlessness. After conducting the second test, the result shows the same strengths but different weakness. The strengths are the faith, Leadership, determination, problem Solving and risk taking while the weakness is the teamwork. This test gives me %64 of integrity. The third test give the high five strengths by considering me as deliverer, strategist, analyst, focus expert and commander. The Keirsey assessment tools indicate that I am considered as a Guardian who is serious and quite in their workplace while a fun person outside. Also, Guardians respect customs, traditions and laws to bring the stability in the modern life. Lastly, the VIA character test shows that the hope is main strengths of my character besides other traits such as the ability to provide wise council to others, fairness, social intelligence and curiosity. In my opinion, I agree with most of the results expect the the level of integrity in the second test because it is difficult to measure the integrity through answering the questions only. This paper researches the typical traits of the INTJ personality type according to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Additionally, I will be discussing the opposite personality of INTJ, type ESFP. I will detail two past experiences where my INTJ personality posed problems. This paper will also explore strategies that may benefit the INTJ personality type, myself included.
Upon taking the Myers Briggs personality test on the human metrics website I was not surprised that I received the conclusion of an ENTJ or “the natural born leader”. The role of an ENTJ is that you conduct yourself in a manner that is very logical and rational (“Personality”). However, in reflection of my past teamwork experiences in class, I am often one of the organizers and stronger voices, connecting me with being a natural leader. In reflection of past job experience, I found it related to a low tolerance for incompetency and also being a natural leader, but did not demonstrate being a visionary or argumentative. My past job experience includes refereeing youth soccer matches and serving at Anthony’s Beach Café. My experience refereeing youth soccer matches forced me to become a leader, taking control of parents and the players, allowing me to mature well being in a position of authority. Well working as a server at Anthony’s I have developed very high expectations for myself, displaying my low tolerance for mistakes and increasing my productivity. During this semester I have discovered several personality traits which I seem to possess. My personality traits include persistence, introversion, and perfectionism. My persistence has paid off and, to some extent, so has my perfectionism; however, I have been trying to lose my perfectionist attitude because it can be very detrimental to progress. It is remarkable that by answering a few basic questions, a person can learn key characteristics of his or her personality. After taking the personality test, I learned my general personality type is “The Consul” (ESFJ-A). Individual traits of my personality type are more extroverted than introverted, more observant than intuitive, more feeling than thinking, more judging than prospecting, and more assertive than turbulent. My role is Sentinel and my strategy is People Mastery (“Consul Personality,” 2017). According to the study of this course, I have learned many useful management skills and I feel like these skills will be applied to my future career development. When working on the self- assessment tests, I found myself fall into the category of the ISTJ personality types, which as illustrated by Myers Briggs, is the type of personality that is conscientious, considerate, and helpful. Personality traits such as honest, dutiful, practical and responsible are my strengths; personality traits such as stubborn, insensitive and poor communication skill are my weaknesses.
