Informative Presentation In my presentation on drag racing I feel my top communication strengths would be my presentation aid, voice, and my knowledge on the topic. I believe all of which helped my presentation go smoothly, without too many hiccups. Each of these strengths played a huge part in my speech. Information was a crucial role in this presentation. I wanted my audience to actually learn from my speech. Drag racing is a very complex topic. I knew my listeners would be lost if I didn’t explain what it was. I used credible, up to date sources to engage my listeners. It helped a lot for me to have a lot of knowledge on the topic. Having knowledge on the topic helped me feel confident in giving my presentation. It is actually intimidating being a girl with knowledge of drag racing. I feel like people underestimate women who take interest in drag racing and cars. Many feel drag racing is such a masculine sport that girls can’t compete with guys. I felt this was essential because I knew this would be a harder topic for some listeners to comprehend. For instance, some audience members would not know what the jargon term “Christmas Tree” stands for. Many would think this term meant the tree we like to decorate for the Holidays, instead of an electronic starting device for the contestants. I liked the idea of giving my listeners an actual image, so they could visualize what a drag strip looked like. In giving my presentation I didn’t feel like anyone had to strain to hear me. This was extremely important due to the fact if my listeners could not hear me they would have no interest and be extremely lost. I love to tell people about drag racing and share my interest with them. I wanted my listeners to gain something from my speech and that would be almost impossible if they didn’t know what was going on.
