Speech Olympics fans are missing the fastest paced sport in the world. I think NASCAR should be one of the sports in the olympics. The following will help me get my point across: competitiveness, popularity, and that it is fast-paced. NASCAR is extremely competitive. For one, you have to qualify for each race. Qualifying is where you have to get the fastest time to start in a position (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). Whoever has the fastest time will get to start in first. Whoever gets the slowest time starts in 43rd. This makes it competitive because you have to compete and push the car so that you can get the fastest time and start in first. Or there is the “Chase.” The Chase is made up of the NASCAR leaders. It helps determine who goes to the championship. The top 3 right now are Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, and Jimmie Johnson. These both show that it is a very popular sport and growing in popularity. The sport of NASCAR is extremely fast paced. The average speed of a NASCAR is 210.364 MPH.This can make it exciting for many people. Anything can happen in a split second too. One race Kyle Busch started 39/43 and finished in 3/43. That is a change of 36 places. This can also make it exciting because you will never know what’s going to happen. Some say this can’t be in the Olympics because it's way too dangerous. But what about bobsledding and boxing. Reto Capedrutt died in a bobsledding accident along with 6 others. Carlos Barreto died from boxing injuries along with 9 others.
