Stories of a derelict boat filled my childhood. The tales I’ve heard describe its haunted state. She meanders through the vast seven seas, without a captain nor crew. Without any care, her once beautiful features crumbled. Her embrasures became bloodied and the formerly sturdy poop littered with holes. Her sails were torn by harsh and unforgiving winds. A never-ending storm is brewing around her, so you should stay away. One of the stories I loved the most told the tale of some curious villagers. They decided to see if the myths were true or not so they embarked on a trip with their small flotilla. Two months passed and everyone in their home town declared them either missing or dead. All that remained of them is a message in a bottle with the note asking for someone help them, to save them. Even so, most folks still claimed the legends as false. My friend and I decided to prove this boat’s existence. Only, I was the one who decided it, my friend, Kenny, protested the idea. He said it was a waste of time because it was a fabricated story and that it was nonexistent. After some bribery and some “gentle” persuasion, he cracked and agreed. We headed out the next day and rented out a smack to kick start our journey. We filled it with enough supplies to suffice for a month. I was on a large ship with torn sails. I slowly stood up, taking in what was around me. When I realized Kenny was missing, I panicked. Once my panic attack ended, I decided to look for him. I peered into the embrasures not noticing they were bloodied. I walked down the deck falling into numerous holes in the process. When I pulled my leg from out of one hole I was stepping in, I cut it.
