It bent and twisted into a grotesque position. It was a glamorous, fall Saturday morning in Barrington. It was around 12:15 pm. The sun was shining and there were lots of little clouds in the sky. My sister and I had just finished our exhausting, two hour practice. Our coach, Coach Cynthia let us stay a little longer on the trampolines. My sister was on the yellow trampoline with orange lines on it, that also had tiny holes in it to help you bounce much higher. I was on the trampoline that wasn't as bouncy. It was black and had some chalk on it. The gym was empty except for a few private lessons going on. I was wearing my purple leotard with white stripes on it and my sister was wearing her green leotard. My face had small pieces of sweat dripping down it and I was dying for water. …show more content…
"Julia, you should do your backhand spring, it's really fun and I know you've been working on it for a while. "Yours will be wonderful," I interrupted our bouncing. " I really want to do it but I'm really scared and there are no coaches here, they are all coaching different groups," Julia exclaimed. "C'mon Julia, you got it," I expressed. "Okay, I'll try" Julia stated. Julia stands on the trampoline with her hands up getting ready to do it. It feels like five minutes have passed but it hasn't been one minute yet so I stand there watching her. "You got it," I cheered getting a bit nervous. She jumps onto her hands then. Back onto her feet. "I JUST DID MY BACKHAND SPRING!" " I knew you could do it!" I'm so happy that she FINALLY did
it. It was not this simple for me. I turned around, bent down for the ball,
The day started with clear blue skies and not a cloud in the sight. The only noise that you could hear was a concert given by the nearby crickets, and a lonely bull frog singing nearby in unison. As the evening passes on a sharp snoring noise can be heard muffled softly.
Into The Lush Forest The sun had just kissed the hill, giving warm color to the sky, but I was feeling cold. The excitement in my heart was slowly losing its fire. We were lost and I felt alone, lost in the crowd of trees. A cold crowd perhaps. As the three of us walked slowly through the dense forest, our steps made loud noises - crushing the fallen leaves, and the broken twigs.
The storm was coming in quick. Dark silky clouds covered the sky like a wave of sadness. Then Bam! It hit with a force so strong it seemed as if the old mansion would crash down into the earth.
I was nervous and my hands were all sweaty. I guess I
“You’re going to be the prettiest girl on the dance floor.” She said softly in my ears.
The doctor told me it would not hurt, but it would only sting a little bit. I closed my eyes, anxiously waiting as she brought the bottle of medical glue closer to my head. My head already felt like it had collided with a metal bat. I do not know how only an hour before I went to the emergency room, I sat on the trampoline with my cousin. “So, what do you want to do”, Asked my cousin, “because I am tired of sitting here.”
"Well, you are a graceful dancer," he complimented. "I don't teach ballroom dancing, but you seem to be controlled and full of intent in the way you move... you know and have mastered your own body, a trait many don't seem to have...."
The dampened ground slowly sunk his feet through the thick, soggy mud as he scoured through the densely packed forest in hope for finding Trent. The tangling vines obstructed Arnold’s path as they clung of the lengthy branches like maggots on a desiccated piece of meat. The thick, misty air occupied his presence in a truly terrifying way that Arnold couldn’t make out anything apart from a glimpse of light that reflected of his jacket’s zip. The only obvious illumination he could make out was the moon as it glared down on him while accompanied with the trillions of dazzling white specs that roamed the night sky. “Where was he?”

Too many eyes looking at me in shock or terror. Scrambling up from the floor, I mumbled “Keeping going. We need to finish the routine.” Or something along those lines. My coaches and team mates all gave me sideways glances but did as I said.
As I saunter onto the school field, I survey the premises to behold people in coats, shielding themselves from winter's blues. The sun isn't out yet, but the place bursting with life and exuberance, with people gliding across the ice covered floor almost cat-like. The field is effervescent and despite the dire conditions, the field seems to have taken on a life of its own. The weather is bad and the ice seems to burn the skin if touched, yet the mood is still euphoric. The bare shrubs and plants about the place look like they've been whipped by Winter himself. The air is frosty and at every breath the sight of steam seems to be present. A cold, cruel northerly wind blows across the playground and creates unrest amongst some. Crack! The crisp sound of leaves is heard, as if of ice splitting and hissing. Squirrels are seen trying to find a point of safety, scurrying about the bare trees that lie around the playground. Mystery and enigma clouds the playing field, providing a sense of anticipation about the place. Who is going to be the person to spoil the moment? To kill the conversation?
After a while, Tim and I started walking towards the trampoline. “If I get hurt again I'm never going back on a trampoline again” I confirmed hoping I will land a flip this time. We took our shoes off, put our phones down and got on. I started jumping and jumping thinking to myself, I got this I got this I got this. I was super hot and super nervous I put my head forward tucked but I stopped in the middle I could not do it.
The Creature That Opened My Eyes Sympathy, anger, hate, and empathy, these are just a few of the emotions that came over me while getting to know and trying to understand the creature created by victor frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. For the first time I became completely enthralled in a novel and learned to appreciate literature not only for the great stories they tell but also for the affect it could have on someones life as cliché as that might sound, if that weren’t enough it also gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the idiom “never judge a book by its cover.” As a pimply faced, insecure, loner, and at most times self absorbed sophomore in high school I was never one to put anytime or focus when it came time
My body got cold for the first time in seven years. I was scared of a two-minute routine that I had practiced a thousand times. When I stepped onto the stage, I could feel my heart as it rapidly pumped. I was scared, as we set for the routine. The first task to complete was a standing tumbling. “Come on Michelle, jump!” I screamed inside my head. “You have to pull your legs around.” I landed. “Good, next was running tumbling.” As I moved to the next spot to start my running tumbling, everything seemed to move in slow motion. I was the last tumbler to go. “six…five…four…three…two…one” It was my turn. My legs started to run; my hands hit, then my feet. So far, I was okay.
