Cnc Manufacturing Machine Case Study

My technology-based venture concept is establishing a CNC Manufacturing Shop. A CNC Manufacturing Shop is the first phase in the production of a product/service. As the first phase of production the shop will machine products using a CNC Mill and a CNC Lathe. It can be best described as the process from which a piece of raw material (metal) is cut into desired shapes and sizes by a computer controlled machine. This computer control describes CNC Machining and stands for “Computer Numeric Control”. This simply means that a computer will convert a design of a part to be produced from Computer-Aided Design software (CAD), into numbers (G-code). These numbers are then deemed as coordinates on a graph that will precisely control the movement of a cutter. So during production of either a Mill or Lathe, the computer controls the cutting and shaping of material. Now that we have an understanding how the machinery is controlled we can examine the different functions of them. A Lathe is a machine tool that rotates a metal work-piece such as a cylindrical aluminum rod on its axis to perform different cutting operations. Different cutting tools are applied upon a work-piece in order to create products that are symmetrical about an axis. Some examples of parts produced on a Lathe include gun-barrels, crankshafts, camshafts, and candlestick holders. On the other hand a Mill uses a different process to create custom parts. It is a process of machining that uses rotary cutters to remove material from a raw work-piece, by advancing the work-piece in different directions and angles in relation to the axis of the cutting tool. This is the most commonly used process by machine shops today for creating parts to a precise shape and size in th... ... middle of paper ... ...liciting sites. Along with being able to run all the machinery and quality checks, he will also be able to guide me through the process of bidding and acquiring contracts to a legal extent not to jeopardize his employment. And my mother is a contract specialist who writes contracts with contract recipients, she will provide me necessary information as well as be consultant when needed. My uncle will be my first employee and possible business partner who brings’ “on” the job experience. My father will also play a substantial role in entering the private sector from his vast network of previous colleagues and shop owners, which would be able to provide almost immediate job opportunities. I would not be in the position I am with such a possibility for success without my family, they are all important puzzle pieces putt together to create a success FAMILY BUSINESS.
