Women in Management positions around the world face many obstacles and challenges. One of the biggest obstacles women were facing was access to higher education. With higher education becoming more readily available women are setting themselves up to gain the knowledge and skills needed to help them succeed in upper management and executive level positions.Another obstacle that women sometimes have to overcome is the physical requirements of a job. Women are just not built like men and don 't have the strength to fulfill the requirements of many jobs, leaving work options more limited. Once in these positions women are encountering many more challenges including stereotyping, sexual harassment, lower pay, and finding a work/life balance. I …show more content…

I also feel women are discriminated against in the United States due to their fertility. These large corporations always want to be the priority but a mother 's priority is always her children. If a hiring company finds out you are pregnant or you have children, I don 't think it would be far- fetched to think that your odds of getting the job have been greatly decreased.The cost of child care in the US often times makes it not feasible to work. There is a great deal of sexual harassment that takes place in the workplace in United States as well. Women are sometimes forced or pressured into sexual relationships to advance their positions. In Germany the biggest struggle for women in management seems to be finding a work/life balance after having children. There do not seem to be many after school programs or daycare facilities available. Due to the lack of resources women have to stay home with their children instead of continue or pursue management positions.
