In 2016, for passenger vehicles, there were approximately 205 million tire replacements versus 49 million original equipment (OE) tires shipped to or within the United States. Tire manufacturers bring in the most profits from passenger vehicles overall. According to Ulrich, millennials are expected to take up 75% of the workforce by the year 2025. Independent tire dealers took up 78% of the market share in 2016 for this industry, where 7.5% of the market share was taken up by tire company stores. (Ulrich, pg. 28). There has also been an increase in sales coming from dealerships in the recent years for tires. Bridgestone has the largest plant capacities among their competitors. The service category that is bringing in the most profits for automotive servicing sales is alignment corrections bringing in 68% of profits. Firestone is region based in the United States of America and Canada. Firestone has a great branch of networking that helps with the size, revenue, industry and customers. Firestone had its first race with a horse and won, since then the company has indulged in NASCAR racing. A majority of racers use their tires due to the optimal performance and based on various needs on any one particular driver. Since NASCAR has a very public platform this has increased the revenue of Firestone helping the company to increase in size. Firestone also provides services for buses, agriculture, commercial and personal usage. As far as family characteristics, the company has become a household name. Firestone has become a household name, the company wants to continue being the first choice for generations to come. There is no age limit on the purchaser, their hobbies and activities vary.
