Established in 1975. Cruise lines international association is the world’s largest cruise industry trade association, providing a unified voice and leading authority of the global cruise community. CLIA supports policies and practices that foster a safe, healthy and sustainable cruise ship environment and is dedicated to promote the cruise travel experience.

 Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of MSC Cruises, has been reappointed as chairman of CLIA Europe.

 The unanimous decision was made by the CLIA Europe Board, which is in charge of providing strategic direction to Europe's cruise industry association.

 Vago was first appointed to lead the European branch in November 2013 and has recently completed his two-year term.

 The association's bylaws allow a chairman to be re-elected for an extra one-year term.

 The Board has also voted to make Kyriako’s Anastassiadis, CEO of Celestyal Cruises, a permanent member of CLIA Europe's Executive Committee.

 Anastassiadis will take on the role of representing the views and interests of the smaller CLIA Europe
