Bipolar disorder is having severe behavior control. Bipolar can control the six aspects of a person’s life. There are three different moods a person can be when they are diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Also, there are five types of bipolar disorders. There are three contributing factors for bipolar. Bipolar does not have a specific age range and also it can be connected with other disorders. This paper will talk about bipolar disorder as an illness that is over looked because people do not think too much of it, yet bipolar can affect the way people live. The person would not want to do any activities and mopes till the depressive stage is over. A few of the depressive episodes are sadness, anxiety, empty-feeling mood, feelings of hopelessness, pessimism, feelings of guilt, worthlessness and helplessness, etc. (Brain&Behavior Research Foundation, 2013). The person has a change of appetite and is less active than normal. There is a high risk of losing a job, connection with friends, or becoming homeless when a person is in the depressive stage. The depressive stage affects all six aspect of the person. Financial, social, and emotional are the main aspects for depressive because the person believe that their life is not worth living, so why bother socializing and thinking they should not be alive. For women with bipolar disorder, they think that going shopping will help fill in the sadness that the depression created. For men, they will spend their money on alcohol or drugs because it will numb their pain. Taking the contributing factors into place, bipolar can happen at any time in a person’s life. The first contributing factor is genetics and there is still research about this connection. Researchers see that bipolar has been running in families, so they look at specific genes with certain abnormalities (TARTAKOVSKY, 2014). If a gene can cause bipolar, then the person can be born with bipolar. This is also the same for biological. The other contributing factor is biological and it deals with the neurotransmitter in the person’s body. The neurotransmitters are not functioning properly. The main contributing factor of bipolar is the environment. Research has shown that depending on the living condition of the person, bipolar will show up in the person. The living condition has to be a traumatic or a stressful event in the person’s life (TARTAKOVSKY, 2014).
