As a Fireteam leader in the Corps, a position similar to a first line manager in charge of two to three subordinates, I strive to earn …show more content…

As a biochemistry major, I have explored multiple career options, from medicine to research to data analysis in the sciences. In my introduction systems biology course, I completed a final project on the impact of Systems Biology on gene therapy research with two other students. This project gave me an insight into the emerging new technology that is gene therapy, and the positive impact it could have on people suffering from a variety of genetic conditions. With a systems biology approach, researchers can now model and predict the effects the genetic change of gene therapy treatment would have on a specific condition before risking the treatment on a patient. This project sparked my interest in data analysis and modeling, and I intend to explore this field more to find out what sort of impact I can make through computational
