The overarching message presented by Mlodinow to the readers in his book is the effect of randomness in our lives with the math and psychology behind it that causes it to impact our life. The effects of randomness are continually addressed by the author through the description of events that he believes can be chalked up to elements of randomness whether it be a tech entrepreneur rising to the richest man in the world or the success of an actor based of of one role. Bill Gates is a primary example by the author of how a random event so little can have a much larger impact. When IBM initially approached Gates with a request to develop an OS for the IBM PC he declined and referred them to another person and he then declined and Gates developed the OS and from there began what would make him the wealthiest man on earth.

The reason we choose Bill Gates as a leader because of his passion for his work and giving something back to his society and also his determination. The thing that made Bill Gates better than other leaders is his ability of thinking big and different. He wasn’t afraid to take risks. When he failed in his exams and all his friends passed then instead of worrying, he committed that one day he would be a billionaire and he started working on his dream
Bill Gates is now helping people in developing countries get water and an education full time. He created what is called the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. “In 2008 he left the company to devote himself full-time to his charity the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation”(Harris 1). He has worked his whole life to get the success and money that he has today and instead of keeping it to himself he has given it back to society in many generous ways. He also is helping developing countries with their needs that aren't accessible to them. “They helped vaccinate African and Asian children against diseases like polio and malaria. And they have been very successful in helping get rid of these diseases for good.”(Harris 1). This foundation helped poorer countries get the medical help they need to get rid of illnesses that should have already been gone by now. Bill and his wife had had an impact on the world by doing these things
Some examples of these heroes are Bill Gates and Barry Allen, who is also known as the Flash. Some reasons why people believe why Bill Gates is a hero are because he and his wife are philanthropists. Being a philanthropist means, “a person who seeks to promote the welfare of others, especially by the generous donation of money to good causes”. Bill Gates’s, “Gates Millennium Scholars Program” offers young scholars who do not have the money to afford college the chance to earn a scholarship in various subjects such as mathematics, computer science, science, public health, and education. In addition, since Bill Gates is one of the wealthiest people in the world, he can donate a lot more money than regular people can to charities.
Through his intelligence and excellent business skills, Bill Gates was able to change the world. As a technological genius he founded the worlds largest software company. He has also been extremely generous, donating more than thirty billion dollars as a philanthropist. He is, without a doubt a catalyst for change, tirelessly working to make the world a better place.

More than that, his family was wealthy enough to buy him toys and games and other things which would be far too extravagant to others. These small things created a stronger foundation for Bill Gates’
