“Come on in,” Uncle George yelled to my cousins, Terry and Savannah. On a cool November day, Thanksgiving to be exact, all of the women in my family were gathered in the kitchen preparing dinner. Aunt Debby was making yams and washing the collard greens before placing them in the pot to be cooked. Aunt May and Aunt Janet were working on the dressing and macaroni while all of the other women of the family are doing everything possible to make this festive holiday a success. “Turn the TV up and be quiet!” Uncle George was now grumpy! The McDonald’s Thanksgiving parade was broadcasting on the television and it is his favorite thing to watch the morning of Thanksgiving, but for the rest of the day the television would

The Misfit said it would have been better if they had not recognized him. Bailey said something harsh enough to his mother that shocked everyone. Grandmother began to cry while the Misfit said not to get upset, because some men say things they don’t mean.
Although no one was killed, the grandmother limped out of the car and said "I believe I have injured an organ," still trying to seek attention. In addition, when the family sees a car from on top of the hill, "The grandmother stood up and waved both arms dramatically to attract their attention." ( O 'Connor 716) Furthermore, three men came out of the car and the grandmother thought that the driver 's face looked familiar. She later recognized him from the newspaper she had read and said: "You 're The Misfit!" The grandmother began to cry and said: "You wouldn 't shoot a lady, would you?" ( O 'Connor 717)

And never mind that Liz was so terrified of the Haunted House tour that she ran both Kid and Patty out of there shrieking at the top of her lungs. Commonly, vehicular collisions are considered a negative occurrence. Dave Eggers hints towards this mindset in his short story Accident. Plotted in the middle of an intersection in 2005, the story commences with the main character driving his automobile through the intersection and striking an older Camaro. The three teenagers in the Camaro are fine, but the main character notices all the damage he has done to their vehicle and he fears an unpleasant encounter with them. Dave Eggers uses irony throughout the situation to illustrate the main character’s relief. The characters’ involvement with the collision emphasizes Egger’s theme that no matter how unfortunate an incident, positivity can result.
Some saw the suspected driver actually speeding on the sidewalk and striking the people who were in his path. Others saw the destruction of the aftermath, including many bodies on the ground who had several injuries and debris from a car. Bersat Noorai, the manager of Taftan Kebab, was one of the witnesses who saw the initial accident. Noorai said he saw the van hit the bench located in front of his restaurant, which is why he ran outside and then saw a couple of people injured on the ground. He brought one of the people, who seemed to be in his early twenties, a towel and water because he saw that he was losing a lot of blood and then proceeded to call 911. A lot of the witnesses, who saw the incident unfold, claimed that the driver deliberately hit the victims, making the collision ten times more
