Being you Author Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” I strongly agree with this statement. The world we live in today is full of judgemental people, and it is best for everyone to not allow society tell them what is right and wrong. I believe everyone in this world needs to be who they truly are without allowing others to change them. It is best for everyone to be themselves in this judgemental world instead of what others want them to be because, it allows people to learn more about who they are, the world would not be bland, and people may discover new things. First of all, I believe people need to be themselves in a world that is constantly trying to change them because it gives them a chance to discover more about themselves. If people allowed society to tell him/her how they are supposed to live, they would be unable to discover new things about themselves. Today's society labels everything and the people in this world follows those labels. For example, people tend to look down upon others who play video games and or listen to music. If everyone followed the same labels and did exactly what others tell them to be, they would all be the same. There would be no unique people in this world, causing it to be bland and boring. However, if people chose to be themselves and and not allow society's labels to define them and hold them back from trying new things, the world will be exciting.
