Alice Cooper once said, “Drinking beer is easy. Trashing your hotel room is easy. But being a Christian, that’s a tough call. That’s real rebellion.” Alice Cooper put what every Christian struggles with all into one quote. Many events, people, or even ideas open doors for Christians to doubt and sometimes rebel against their own beliefs. The impact these doubts give Christians is something exhausting to work through on their own. I agree with Alice Cooper’s quote that being a Christian is tough, especially today. The toughness of a Christian is measured by their willingness to take blame, and then being able to speak up for their beliefs in Christianity. Some societies are not as accepting of many religions, making it is hard to speak up for our own religion. Today’s current issue is society and its harsh criticism. Society is not accepting of different religions, in general. For example, ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) has done damage to many countries which many followers had paid for. The actions they display cause many people to judge that religion, which in turn affects believers who stand up for their religion. They stand up because they are afraid of automatically being associated with terrorism. This is just one religion that is judged daily. Wrong decisions cause bad judgement, which effects society to not be highly accepting. Another topic that causes lack of acceptance is homosexuality. Many Christian religions are not accepting of that choice, causing many Christians who are homosexual to be afraid of belonging to that religion.
