Becoming a music producer can mean discovering and helping make the careers of artists. However, it takes time, effort, training and contacts. That's because a music producer has plenty of responsibilities during an album's production, both on the creative and the business looks sides. The producer supervises all aspects of the recording process, from helping to select songs to contracting with session players and deciding the sound of the song, selecting the studio and engineers, booking studio time and overseeing the recording budget.
All these responsibilities require ability in music, some experience , combined with a thorough knowledge of music and music theory. It also requires music and sound production in a recording studio along with a key sense of listening. Some music producers work for record labels producing for recording artists under a contract which has very exact wantings for that artist. And while many are full-time employees, others are self-employed. Which means they must also have experience in running a business. the first job of a music producer in to work with an artist to select songs and background music for the album. The producer may take part in the recording process and may hire an arranger to add parts and layers to some songs, or beginning to create the beat and background music . A great example of one is the one and only Dr. Dre. The Producer selects a studio, sets a recording time, chooses an engineer, and list all that needs to be done. During the recording session, the record producer works closely and hard with the recording engineer to perfect each track, decides when to do retakes, and adds his or her own trademark to the song. A example of this would be like The Weeknd talking about XO in ...

...publish. By turns the producer must be best friend, teacher, and enforcer the artist has. You have to be prepared to fight battles, and know when to compromise and when you need to fight for this change. The end result of the sessions will be on there shoulders, but no one wants to hire a producer who is difficult to work with. When you make the jump to working as a producer your first artist just may be with unknown artists or small labels, but it only takes one hit on the billboard charts to move up to the big leagues.
The college I would want to go to for this would be The Art Institute of chicago. They have a really good audio production and music production program and prepare for the world of music. I want to be a music producer/music artist because that’s all I love to do is make music. Music is the one thing I can use to express myself and vent my emotions.
The music industry is a tough community to become involved with. Everyone within it is constantly looking for credibility, ethos, to get
Pretend you're a musician. (I'll leave it up to you to decide if you're starving or not) Simplifying things greatly, there are really only two things you have to do to produce an album. The first is coming up with the lyrics and the music. This is your intellectual property. Second, you need to record and make copies of your music. (Unless you went with "starving" above) These copies are physi...
Music can help express emotions, dreams, or even getting over a bad experience. I know that music has been around forever, and that it has always been a big part of people’s daily lives. This being said, musicians are very much the voice of their peers and can be considered heroes to some listeners. The theory of being able to create something out of nothing and become world renowned has always encouraged me to try my hand at composing music, however I’ve never had much reason to put the adequate time and energy into actually doing it; until now. Music composition as a hobby, as well as music composition as a career have always seemed appealing to me. There are various different music producing softwares out there (Fruity Loops) that are commonly used to create the most popular songs played on the radio. This program allows you to drag and drop many different sounds onto a playlist. Some of these beats include drum kicks, piano keys, pre-recorded vocals, and even guitar chords. I’m by no means an expert with Fruity Loops, however I know some background information on how to operate it. I know that I will be able to find YouTube tutorials pertaining to making beats, and perfecting the quality of the music.
This is probably in part to how hands-on producers are in creating the music or melodic ideas the artist uses. Taking into account how limited credits are in showing the true extent of each person's contributions, a "producer" can be a composer, someone who programmed the drums, or made with the chorus melody that the song was developed around. In that case, it makes sense to consider this kind of work "writing." However, this doesn't mean that Drake, Nicki Minaj or Kanye West are sitting in a room full of 10 other people taking different bits and pieces of lyrics to make a song. These times are occasional, and rarely involve more than 2 or 3 people tops, which is the average amount of writers on a song in any

The level of education required to enter into the field is a basic bachelors of music education degree. You can earn your four year degree or you can go for a masters in music education and training and move up the latter to even be some big director at a college or university. Another factor besides education is how many years of experience you have. These two factors determine what job you get, where it is, and how much you get
Broadcast and Sound Engineer Technicians have similar but different responsibilities. For instance, Live Sound Engineers and Sound Technicians work during live performances to make sure that the sound is where it needs to be by using a sound board and making it a high quality sound. A Rerecording Mixer, Recording Studio Setup worker, and a Producer all work with recordings and their jobs are to rerecord any media if needed to, set up equipment for recording, and make music, videos, and mixers. Another job duty involved with being a Sound Engineer Technician is a Mastering Engineer, this engineer takes mixes (multiple recorded sounds that are combined into one) and makes finishing touches to them before they are produced. There are many more jobs. One is a Multimedia Developer, which has the responsibilities of gathering information and producing audios for compact discs and websites. Studio Designers are ones who provide audio and video designs for recording places. Assistant Engineers are in charge of assisting engineers by setting up, and helping with recordings. Production Assistants, are the o...
In the studio, the recording engineer has to prepare for the recording sessions by setting up the necessary equipment, run the equipment during the session, and break down afterwards. While this sounds all too simple, one must remember that the engineer must work with the producer and the act to achieve the sound they're looking for, as well as troubleshoot any technical problems. This is not always a smooth process. The engineer must employ both creative and technical skills, applying their knowledge and experience to helping create music in collaboration with the artist and producer.
A Director is someone who takes a written script, a feature film, or a television show and a personal vision and they turn it into an audio-visual for an audience. This person has responsibility for the overall creative and practical interpretation of the piece they have chosen to work on, taking into account the budget and physical constraints of the production. They are involved throughout the entire process, from the design and pre-production stages and rehearsal right through to the final performance. Directors also work closely with their creative and production teams, the performers and the producer to create a performance that will connect with the audience. Therefore, they need to be able to coordinate effectively across a wide range of disciplines and with an artistic vision. Some directors also double as writers, designers and perfo...
You don’t have to go to college to be a music composer, but it is easier to get a job as one if you do. A good college to study the composition of music and music performance is the Northwestern Bienen School of Music. There is a course under the the name of “Composition and Music Technology”. In this course the degrees available are:
An artist today is somewhat put in a place of DIY (Do It Yourself). Most record labels have expectations from the beginning. You must prove yourself on so many levels. It is important to have talent, but that is definitely...
Music Business Music Business Exam Number One Question 1 - What is The music publishing industry at a glance would seem to be those who print sheet music, method books, lead sheets, and all of the texts or notated music that musicians (and those aspiring to be musicians) use. Years ago, this was what most music publishers did, but as the industry has evolved, the process has become much more complex. Music is not just ink and paper, intellectual material and property to the individual who writes it. Therefore, the song does not become "a song" when it is written down. This is not an easy concept to grasp because the song itself has no physical makeup.
However, you would need to have the bachelor's degree in music or audio production. These curriculums can educate students on audio technology, sound synthesis and audio fundamentals. In addition if you are a studio manager and want to own a recording studio you will need to have some type of financial background. Some students that get the opportunity, work in music labs, different type of mixing studios and full recording studios.
Though I had very little previous experience using the mixing desk, amplifiers and other types of sound kit used in professional theatre, I was familiar with mixing sounds together using software. Putting together a script and mapping out the sound effects we wanted and when, meant every person in our group had a job and a large contributing part to the making of the radio advert. My group worked well together after we established a loose hierarchy and role for every person, despite the advert being only half a minute and considering the fact that there were 5 of us I was surprised that no one was left without a purpose at the time of recording. Once again this consolidated my earlier thoughts in that even though there seems to be great numbers of people involved in the production team alone, each person is invaluable to the smooth running of a theatre, with everyone depending on one another to get their job done in order to keep the production process
