It is in essence the level of which humans are engaged with the outside world. It is also characterized by individual’s excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness and high amounts of emotional expressiveness. On the other hand introversion is opposite of extraversion where individual tends more to value time to himself rather than the outside world. The big five segments introverts as people who score low in extraversion. They are characterized by low social engagement and a more reserved view of social situation. They tend to think more before speaking and are very analytic in terms of problems. In a situation where an individual is faced with a problem an extrovert may come up with a solution very fast whereas an introvert likes to take his/her time and use analytical skills to think through the situation before responding. Many times introverts are assumed as shy people by extroverts. This is not true because while they enjoy alone time rather than social situations, they do not fear social encounters like shy
