Argumentative Essay On Parking Space

In this day and age where car owners are plentiful and the number of convenient parking spaces is inadequate, it is a complete abomination to society that some people choose to park in such a way that they occupy more than one parking space. To simply imagine the sight of one measly car taking up the amount of space meant for two is nearly unbearable. To make matters worse, each space is specifically marked with lines in order to guide one in their parking endeavors. By ignoring these lines and parking poorly, it is clear that drivers who do this must be completely incompetent. A system shall be created by police departments to report and identify poor parkers. This online system will provide a location for upset drivers to upload pictures of license plates and awful park jobs. In addition to user-submitted photos, the system will also utilize cameras that are installed in the parking lots. The use of these cameras will not cost additional money, as many lots already have cameras in place for the sake of security, as noted in an article from Home Buying Checklist. The National Institute of Justice has determined that “the certainty of being caught is a vastly more powerful deterrent than the punishment.” Based on this, it is logical to assume that my parking system will deter poor parking. Secondly, fines that are paid as forms of punishment will provide greater income to our country’s institutions. As explained by a SeattlePi article, the money from current parking tickets is allocated to multiple locations, the most prominent of which being the Public Safety and Education Account, and the city in which the ticket was given itself. Both of these things are worthy of receiving the extra money that would be collected from these fines. Thirdly, ensuring proper parking will save time for many people. Instead of driving in circles around a packed parking lot looking for a space that isn’t occupied by half of a car, there will be plenty of open spaces with adequate room for parking a car. Fourthly, with a threat of punishment in place, there will be legal motivation for people to properly park their cars. Fifthly, with all
