Why we don't need modern day feminism in the U.S

“The advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.” Is what the definition of feminism is, however, is that really what feminism is about? There is no more need for feminism modern day, at least in the U.S. For instance, women already have equal rights, there is no wage gap, there's no “glass ceiling”, and one can argue that women have more rights than men already.
There is no such thing as equality since there will always be bias against someone because of their age, sex, gender, or looks. As far as men and women go, there is already equality. Feminists believe that women are used in commercials and ads because of their bodies saying, ”sex sells” but is that really the case? Only about 20% of people will remember what the product was being sold was, they will either forget or not purchase it. Often times feminists will blame this or other instances on the idea that women should have control of their own body, which in fact they already have control of. Women have the right to say no to anything and do whatever they want to their body; there is no rule saying men can do …show more content…

Most commonly feminists will say, “Women make 77 cents for every dollar a man makes”, but do you know how the wage gap is created? They take the average salary of women working full time and divide that by the average salary that a man makes full time. They completely disregard occupation, over time, and experience; if you took all of those variables into accounting, the wage gap boils down to 6.6 cents. Which isn't even because of sex, it's because of choices that people make in or out of the office. If there was a wage gap however, why wouldn't companies just hire all women it would make it cheaper and the company would make more, and companies are all about profit
